The animal lover rescued 360 dogs and dozens of cats at last year's festival

A brave woman is trying to sabotage a gruesome dog meat festival in China by rescuing as many dogs as she can to save them from the dinner plate.

Yang Xiaoyun, 65, is going to purchase dogs ready for slaughter direct from traders at the festival and take them to a safe house.

Ms Yang has saved up 50,000 Yuan (£5,000), and travelled 1,652 miles from her home town Tianjin to Yulin to save the condemned animals, according to the People's Daily Online.

Since 2010, every year as many as 10,000 dogs are taken to Yulin in Guangxi province ahead of the annual meat festival due to star on June 21.

Many animals die from shock, starvation and dehydration on the journey. The traumatised ones who do survive are beaten to death or their throats slit in street markets and illegal slaughterhouses, animal rights campaigners say.

And, there are fears that the mass transportation of the animals will present an increased risk of rabies.

For, Guangxi province, where the festival is based has the highest levels of rabies in China and Yulin, with 338 deaths from the disease between 2002-2006 alone.As many as 20 million dogs are killed in China each year and eaten as the meat is believed to help protect from evil ghosts and disease. Some men believe it will help boost their sexual performance.

Ms Yang last year spent 150,000 Yuan (£15,178) saving 360 dogs and dozens of cats from the festival.

A university graduate, she started campaigning to save dogs in 1995 after the sudden death of her husband.

She loved the first stray dog she found and took home and has since adopted nearly 3,000 dogs.

As well as saving dogs from dining tables, Ms Yang is also planning to launch a series of animal-loving campaigns in Yulin, where eating dogs is tradition.

'I hope to start a dog breed centre as well as a vegetarian restaurant in Yulin. I hope the locals can gradually accept our culture through them and to learn to love dogs,' she said.

Thousands of pets are slaughtered every years at the Yulin Dog Meat Festival, which local authorities said was shut down last year.

Despite it being officially banned, the meat festival is due to go ahead this year as planned.

It's the long-held belief of Yulin residents that dogs should guard their houses when they are alive and eaten when they die, according to The Beijing News.

Although, it is still legal to eat dogs in China the festival has faced backlash from the public, who have nicknamed it a 'festival of cruelty'.

A number of celebrities, including Ricky Gervais, Ian Somerhalder and Leona Lewis, have criticised the event in a bid to get it banned - and some Chinese celebrities have boycotted it.

It isn’t going to take that long if we open our eyes.

Stofan goes on to say:

“WE’RE ON THE VERGE OF THINGS THAT PEOPLE HAVE WONDERED ABOUT FOR MILLENNIA. WITHIN ALL OF OUR LIFETIMES WE’RE GOING TO UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS LIFE ON OTHER BODIES IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM. WE’RE GOING TO UNDERSTAND THE IMPLICATIONS OF THAT FOR LIFE HERE ON EARTH.”

What we’re going to understand is that our ‘secret’ government has been hiding this fact for ages. In an effort to transition the US and other countries through its reach to a cabal-run oligarchy, our shadow government has been lying about off-planet corporate slavery rings, alien abductions, benevolent beings who can only do so much until our collective consciousness elevates, and much, much more.

NASA Spies 3-Mile-Tall 'Pyramid,; More Bright Spots On Ceres

Ancient astronaut alert! More weird features have been spotted by NASA's Dawn spacecraft on Ceres, a dwarf planet and the largest object in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

As Dawn first made its approach on Ceres earlier this year, it caught sight of large, bright and mysterious reflective spots in a crater on the big rock, which is also believed to contain quite a bit of water, ice and/or mud in its interior.

Now orbiting at a near altitude of just 2,700 miles, those big spots remain a mystery (the leading guess is still reflective patches of ice or salts), but Dawn is also beginning to pick out other bright spots and an odd pyramid-shaped peak that NASA estimates to be three miles tall, which would put it higher than any of the Rocky Mountains. The image with the peak was taken on June 6 and released Wednesday.

Plenty of observers have suggested -- with varying degrees of seriousness -- that the bright lights on Ceres could be evidence of current or past alien occupation of the dwarf planet. The discovery of a mountain-sized pyramid feature must have some cable channels looking into how much it would cost to get their own film crew to Ceres.

Perhaps the ancient Egyptians and ancient Indian astronauts had a celestial joint venture of sorts going on back in the day? Or perhaps Ceres is more geologically interesting both today and in the past than what meets the eye.

A pine tree farmer in Denmark has made an astonishing discovery: five enormous Bronze Age axe heads buried in a field near Nørre Snede in Jutland, Denmark.

Did these weapons belong to the legendary giants that are said to have inhabited the area?

Norse mythology is rife in stories about an ancient race of violent giants known as the Jötnar. Banished to Jötunheimr by the ruling divinities (the Æsir), these giants were oftentimes hostile to mankind.

But is there any historical backing to these tales? As a matter of fact, many believe the presence of giants in worldwide mythology was inspired by a race of flesh-and-bone humanoids of giant statures.

The Bronze Age axes were discovered by farmer Esben Arildskov and his brother-in-law. Before planting a field with pine tree saplings, Arildskov used a metal detector to search for any buried artifacts.

To their amazement, the two men uncovered two giant bronze axe heads. The team of archaeologists called on site found three more.

The axe heads measure 12 inches (30 centimeters) in length and each one weighs two pounds. Dating revealed they were made sometime during the 16th century BC, making them one of the oldest weapons of their kind discovered in Denmark.

They are twice as heavy as axe heads usually are, suggesting that the men who wielded them must have been giant in stature.

The purity of the metal used to craft the weapons suggest advanced metalworking techniques were employed 3,600 years ago. In all truthfulness, the giants of old were known as master craftsmen.

Archaeologists believe this amazing find is unprecedented. All over Europe, only five other giant bronze axes were found, never so many in one single place.

“I’m all electric,” said archaeologist Constanze Rassman, curator of Midtjylland Museum in Denmark. “Five such Bronze Age axes have been found in all Northern Europe to date, and then we go and find five more in one go. That’s fantastic!”

The axe heads are currently at the Midtjylland Museum, where archaeologists are studying and preserving them. After that, they will be placed on display at the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen.

And if the artifacts prove to controversial, they will probably disappear along the way, like so many others.

Man Tries To Rape Teenage Girl. Furious Mob Cuts Off His Genitals With A Meat Cleaver!

The intended victim was saved after her screams were heard by passers by in north-western city of Ganganagar.

They allegedly found the 40-year-old suspected attacker pinning the girl to a wall, and dragged him away for a 'vigilante community meeting'.

Locals then took him to a butcher's shop where he was beaten, before his genitals were brutally chopped off with a meat cleaver.

The man is being treated in hospital, where his condition is described as critical.

A photo showing the severed appendance has been released, but is too graphic to be published.

A witness said: "No one went to help the man because they could see his penis on the ground and knew this was punishment for a sex crime.

"We have had a lot of intolerable offences against women in this country recently, with girls being raped, hung, and molested, and it's time it stopped.

"This sends out a very strong message to anyone like that - if you do it you will be punished."

But the police have called for those responsible to come forward.

A spokesman said: "People cannot take the law into your own hands.

"As deplorable as these crimes are, law and order has to be maintained, and not lynch justice. We ask those men who carried out this attack to hand themselves in before we find them."

The teenage girl has been treated for shock, and given counselling.

India has seen a spate of high profile violent attacks on women in recent years.

In 2012, a 23-year-old woman died after being attacked and gang-raped on a bus in Delhi in a case which sent shockwaves around the world.

The attack sparked a wave of protests across India.

In May, two young girls were found hanged from a tree in the state of Uttar Pradesh, amid reports they had been sexually assaulted.

And it wasn’t the only one threatening Earth. Nasa is currently tracking 1,400 ‘potentially hazardous asteroids’ and predicting their future approaches and impact probabilities.

The threat is so serious that former astronaut Ed Lu has described it as ‘cosmic roulette’ and said that only ‘blind luck’ has so far saved humanity from a serious impact.

So for NASA to imply that nothing is going to hit us for hundreds of years is absolutely laughable.

China plans to retake the disputed island of Thitu in the South China Sea .

Thitu is claimed by both China and Taiwan but is currently controlled by the Philippines. Thitu is the second largest island in the much disputed Spratly chain.

Because the Philippines and Taiwan are both strong allies with the US, this intended action of China will come with grave consequences.

In a prophecy given by the Romanian Prophet Dumitru Duduman in the 90’s, he said that when the US and China go to war over Taiwan, then Russia will strike the US without warning. The US will be devastated by overwhelming nuclear force.

Former US president Ronald Reagan asked Mikhail Gorbachev for help to fight an Alien Invasion

Ronald Reagan was the 40th President of the United States from 1981 to 1989. Prior to his presidency, he served as the 33rd Governor of California from 1967 to 1975, following a career as an actor and union leader in Hollywood.

It is not a secret that sensationalist journalism has talked about Ronald Reagan’s fascination with astrology and extraterrestrial life for a long time, even though mainstream media never gave the subject much importance, the truth is that Ronald Wilson Reagan became the first president of the United States to speak publicly about the possibility of an alien invasion.

This was during a speech to the United Nations in 1987. Prior to becoming the President of the United States, Reagan was governor of California, and in one occasion, he claimed to have seen a UFO. Ronald and his wife Nancy were traveling to a casual dinner with friends in Hollywood. The guests arrived with the exception of Reagan, who arrived half an hour later. When asked why he had arrived late, Reagan replied they had seen a UFO over the coast.

According to psychologist Dr. David Clarke, words can show that Reagan, who was a firm believer in extraterrestrial life and a science fiction fan, actually thought that there might be a threat coming from other worlds. Dr. Clarke said that the former president of the United States became a believer in the existence of extraterrestrial life while working as an actor in Hollywood movies

“I’ve often wondered,” “what if all of us in the world discovered that we were threatened by an outer — a power from outer space, from another planet.” And then he emphasized his theme that this would erase all the differences, and that the “citizens of the world” would “come together to fight that particular threat…” Ronald Reagan.
In the book written by Dr. Clarke, it seems that Reagan hosted a private screening of “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” in 1982 with Stephen Spielberg in the White House, among the guests was Spielberg, several astronauts and UFO experts. But most surprising was that during the end credits the former president said: “There are a number of people in this room who know that everything on that screen is true.”

Dr. Clarke, even with all the evidence, remained skeptical and believes that Reagan was overly dismayed by nuclear weapons and its approach to Gorbachev was inspired by the 1951 film The Day the Earth Stood Still by Robert Wise.

The case of Alien abductions and alien implants has been a fascinating subject for years, if proven to be true, it could be considered as one of the best pieces of evidence that points towards the existence of otherworldly beings. Dr. Roger Leir, a specialist in podiatry (Podiatry or podiatric medicine is a branch of medicine devoted to the study of diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower extremity.) and arguably the most famous person in regard to the removal of extraterrestrials implants said to have performed around 17 surgeries in which suspicious objects, "implants" were extracted.

According to Dr. Leir, an amazing feature is that all of these alleged implants are the size of a pencil tip but extremely magnetic in nature, and some had too high frequency for their size. Other items that were examined had meteorite fragments in common; metals such as gallium, germanium, platinum, ruthenium, rhodium and iridium. Research also found a diversion of nickel in quantities that lab analysis could not explain, nickel content of isotope ratio unknown to our planet.

According Ph.D. Alex Mosier specialist in Physical Chemistry, who examined the pieces together with Leir, fibers were found that are very similar in nature to carbon nanotubes which suggests that the fragments were designed or manufactured and it was impossible to find artifacts like these in nature. They have to be processed, requiring complex engineering and are not easy to manufacture. These objects have also been scientifically researched by some of the world's most prestigious laboratories such as Los Alamos National Lab, New Mexico Tech and the University of California in San Diego.

Dr. Leir, who also worked as a medical consultant in the Mutual UFO Network, said that the people from which they extracted these strange objects had no visible scars or interruption in the integrity of the skin. There were no signs of inflammation but X-ray tests clearly showed embedding, which seemed nearly impossible.

So far, medicine has had a phobia about tests which are linked to ufology. Very few scientists and doctors have dared to enter into debate regarding the matter, especially due to their professional prestige.

Dragons Came to Earth from Sirius to Share With Humans Their Wisdom, Myths Say

Among a great number of fairytale creatures dragons stand out as a particular category. In the memory of many nations they are still wise, amiable, open-hearted and at the same time strange-looking creatures.

West-European medieval ballads describe dragons as winged snatchers of young girls, insatiable and severe treasure keepers who one day still died of swords of knights.

A Swiss religion researcher studied myths, legends and fairytales of people inhabiting Europe, Asia, Africa and America. He thinks that our ancestors actually met and communicated with dragons.

This is astonishing that pictures of dragons, descriptions of their looks and conduct left by different nations coincide. Another amazing fact is that first pictures of dragons and legends telling about them appeared within 2,500-4,000 B.C. Often, they appeared as messengers of the skies.

Contemporary ufologist Vadim Arskiy tells about people encountering dragons. Researchers want to closely study the tribe of dogons living in Africa. Thousands-year old myths about dogons mention ‘humans’ who came to Earth from Sirius.

It is said that Nommo whose sacred image dogons worship was the one who brought the aliens to Earth. Nommo is described as a combination of a human and a snake with three couples of flexible extremities and a split tongue. It has a smooth shining body covered with green skin.

Legends say that Nommo (meaning “the monitors”) as well as other aliens were living side by side with dogons for a long period of time, shared their knowledge and experience with them and then left for their home star.

Dogons keep an image of Nommo’s remains that look like a log of about four meters long decorated with intricate ornamentation. This may sound incredible but images of dragons known in America, China and other parts of the world are of approximately the same size and appearance that the image kept by dogons.

Like contemporary astronomers African villagers knew that dwarf star Sirius B, a small solid star with extremely high mass was revolving around the Sun. How was it possible that dogons could detect the invisible star in the sky?

And how could they know that Sirius B consisted of solid and superheavy substance?

In addition to these facts, dogons also knew that Sirius B was revolving on its axis and that the Milky Way was a spiral star system. It is perfectly clear that this knowledge could not be the result of mere observation of the sky.

Dogons would not obtain this knowledge even if they had a telescope. So, there is every reason to say that the African people got the information about the space immediately from aliens.

China was considered the homeland of dragons at all times. As well as dogons’ legends, Chinese legends also say that dragons came down on this planet from the sky. Old historical scripts say that “the sons of the sky” made up the first calendar and a medicine textbook.

One of the aliens, female Juan Di made robots that looked like “the sons of the sky.” Scripts say they had two pairs of eyes and three pairs of extremities.

Majority of “the sons of the sky” left for home immediately after they shared their knowledge with ancestors of Chinese. But some of them died on this planet and were buried here. About 500 B.C., a lost tomb of one of “the sons of the sky” was suddenly discovered when building fortress walls.

A dummy was made of the discovered body and later more accurate copies of it were made. One of such statues known as The Dragon Sculpture is still kept at a museum in a provincial Chinese town.

Six extremities of “the son of the sky” looked incredibly withered and shapeless. Vadim Arskiy says it occurred because dragons had flexible tubes filled with liquid as bones.

It was thanks to this construction of dragon extremities that the creatures were amazingly lissome. When “the son of the sky” died the pressure in the tubes vanished, the bones decreased and became shapeless.

In Peru, people also tell legends about sky messengers. They taught men build irrigation canals and grow corn; women learnt to sew and cook from them. As well as Chinese, Peruvians got a precise calendar from these sky messengers.

At that, the looks of messengers who came to Peru wonderfully resembled the looks of dragons seen in China. In 1989, a statue of an Indian woman with a fairytale creature having a pangolin head and a snake body was found in the Sipan Tomb.

Judging by the ratio between the height of the woman and the creature, the latter was over four meters high.

In Central America, legends telling about Quetzalcoatl, a feathered dragon, appeared about three thousand years ago.

Almost all of the tribes inhabiting Central America honored the dragon and believed it was Quetzalcoatl who gave people an accurate calendar, taught them to mine and work precious stones and observe the stars. Legends also say that after several failures of his mission, ageing Quetzalcoatl left for his father who lived on the Sun.

Who were the wise dragons that descended from the Sun and taught earth dwellers observe the sky, grow plants, work stones, read calendar and other important things?

Vadim Arskiy who has been studying UFO and alien visits to Earth for many years already is sure that dragons described in legends and myths were aliens who came to this planet from the center of the Galaxy.

The Galaxy consists of stars of four generations. The Sun belongs to the third generation stars. Both the Sun and the Earth could be visited only by spaceships from the stars of the first and the second generations located close to the Galaxy’s center.

The researcher adds that descriptions of dragons prove that their home planet had super weight. Myths about dragons say the creatures had three pairs of extremities and no joints.

That is why people who met dragons often compared them to serpents. Nommo and other aliens described in legends were wearing heavy copper sandals, and this is another fact proving their home planet was very heavy.

Two Underground Bases Found in Antarctica; What Are They?

Google Earth has apparently been the tool responsible for the discovery of two “secret” underground facilities in Antarctica. In the view of many ufologists and researchers, these mysterious entrances could be secret military underground facilities, extraterrestrial bases but even ordinary caves which formed over time due to the harsh weather conditions that rule over Antarctica.

“Famous” online ufologist Scott Waring believes that these entrances could lead towards a secret military base or a base that otherworldly beings created in Antarctica. In the video footage that was released by the anomaly hunter, Waring shows the image of a mysterious object that bizarrely resembles a flying saucer buried under the ice of Antarctica.

Scott Waring writes in his website: “Very interesting and intriguing images from Google Earth, which seem to show two possible entrances to an alien base or at least an entrance to something, and a huge saucer-shaped object buried in the ice. If there are Alien bases in the Antarctic it would follow that there are ET craft their also. ”

Waring’s comments seem to point towards a possible connection between the two entrances and the alleged crashed UFO found in the melting ice on Antarctica. Unfortunately, the images displayed on the video showing the dish are no longer available on Google Earth, making it impossible to confirm. Interestingly, the “two entrances” that are believed to be the secret underground bases are clearly visible. In the images, it seems that one of the entrances to the underground base seems to have some sort of metallic support at the entrance, and some believe that this points towards an artificial origin of the structure.

Both of the entrances are visible using Google Earth or Google Maps by accessing the following coordinates:

Ufologists point out that the entrances of the underground facilities are quite large, with a diameter of around one hundred meters and a height of around thirty meters. So what are these tunnels? Are they just natural caves that have formed on the Icy continent in the distant past? Or is it possible that these mysterious entrances lead towards an extraterrestrial research facility hidden under the harsh environment of Antarctica? We cannot rule out the possibility that these entrances might actually be secret military bases.

A very interesting documentary called Third Reich – Operation UFO seems to question a lot of things regarding Antarctica and one of those things, that the documentary approaches, is whether there s a possibility that Antarctica might be home to numerous secret underground bases.

After the Soviet collapse in 1991, the KGB released previously classified documents that shed light on the infamous “Operation Highjump.” Intelligence reports obtained by Soviet spies working in the United States revealed that the United States NAVY sent numerous expeditions to Antarctica for mysterious purposes.

Operation Highjump, officially titled The United States Navy Antarctic Developments Program, 1946–1947, was a United States Navy operation organized by Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd Jr., USN (Ret), Officer in Charge, Task Force 68, and led by Rear Admiral Richard H. Cruzen, USN, Commanding Officer, Task Force 68. Operation Highjump commenced 26 August 1946 and ended in late February 1947. Task Force 68 included 4,700 men, 13 ships, and 33 aircraft. Even thought the operations primary mission was to “establish the Antarctic research base Little America IV,” some believe its true purpose is far more mysterious than anyone of us can imagine.

I’ve Been to AREA 51 and “Aliens Exist” says NASA Chief

Such statements would never have surfaced a decade ago. As a consequence, many of us are wondering if NASA is preparing for a disclosure like no other.Whenever ‘alien’ is mentioned, official confirmation is hard to come by. Yet former astronaut and current NASA administrator Charles Bolden has done just that. When asked by a 10-year-old if he believed in aliens, Bolden expressed his views with a certainty that conspiracy theorists would have loved:

I do believe that we will someday find other forms of life or a form of life, if not in our solar system then in some of the other solar systems – the billions of solar systems in the universe.”

The recent discoveries of a number of Earth-like planets have given Bolden and his colleagues reason to believe the search for extraterrestrial life forms will soon register its first success.

Today we know that there are literally thousands, if not millions of other planets, many of which may be very similar to our own earth. So some of us, many of us believe that we’re going to find… evidence that there is life elsewhere in the universe.”

Bolden was also asked about the existence of Area 51, which he immediately admitted. After all, the Central Intelligence Agency have officially recognized the base and its exact location in 2013. However, Bolden was adamant when he said there are no aliens there:

There is an Area 51. It’s not what many people think. I’ve been to a place called that but it’s a normal research and development place. I never saw any aliens or alien spacecraft or anything when I was there.

I think because of the secrecy of the aeronautics research that goes on there it’s ripe for people to talk about aliens being there.”

The base was a badly kept secret for decades and it certainly looks like it’s going to generate controversies for years to come. People are going to keep talking. But on the upside, NASA is making some historical admissions.

The president of the tiny African nation of The Gambia has reportedly threatened to kill any homosexuals in his country, adding to his long-time record of cracking down on homosexuality.

“If you do it [in The Gambia] I will slit your throat,” President Yahya Jammeh said in a public speech in the Wolof language, cited by VICE News. “If you are a man and want to marry another man in this country and we catch you, no one will ever set eyes on you again, and no white person can do anything about it.” He reportedly spoke in the town of Farafeni, while on an agricultural tour of his country.

Jammeh’s reference to “white people” was likely a nod to the European Union, which in December 2014 cut off some €13 million of humanitarian aid for The Gambia due to its poor human rights record. The only aid the African nation is receiving now comes from Middle Eastern states.

The EU’s aid freeze came after in November, Jammeh signed a law on “aggravated homosexualism”. It introduced life imprisonment for homosexual men and women who are sentenced for repeating the “offence”, or who are HIV-positive or sick with AIDS. Homosexuality was outlawed in the country even before that, punishable by up to 14 years behind bars.

This is by far not the first time Jammeh has lashed out at homosexuals. Last February, he called them “vermin” and vowed to fight them “like malaria-causing mosquitoes”. And back in 2008, he advised them to flee the Gambia, saying he would otherwise chop their heads off.

Yahya Jammeh, who came to power in the 1.9-million strong nation through a 1996 coup, survived an overthrow attempt himself in December 2014. The alleged conspirators, two of whom are US citizens, wanted”to restore democracy to the Gambia and to improve the lives of its people,”according to the US Department of Justice.

Jammeh is known not only for his crusade on homosexuality and crackdown on freedom of speech, but also for some rather extravagant statements.

These include putting the blame for his aunt’s 1999 death on “sorcerers,” and Jammeh’s 2007 claims he could cure HIV/AIDS with herbs.

A former cobbler who has been dubbed 'Uganda's Ugliest Man' has become a father for the eighth time.

Godfrey Baguma, 47, who is believed to suffer from a rare, unknown medical condition, and his wife Kate Namanda, 30, welcomed a baby girl.

Baguma won the less-than-favourable title in 2002, after he entered the competition to make money for his cash-strapped family.

Before his marriage to Kate, Godfrey had two children with his first wife – but their marriage came to an end when he caught her cheating with another man.

Describing how he wooed Kate initially, Godfrey told KFM: 'I stayed with her four years before her people knew where she was. I didn't want them to see me until we had a child because they would definitely advise her to leave me.

'She left me when she was six months pregnant but I think she later accepted her fate because she came back two months later'.

'I told her that I didn't choose to look the way I do and that if she feels I am a burden, she is free to leave me'.

The couple got married in 2013, and now have six children together – after their first child was born in 2008.

Speaking of their romance, Kate said: 'Once you find a man you think is right for you, do not listen to what other people say. Follow your heart. Money and physical appearance should not be an issue.'

Godfrey, whose stage name is Ssebabi, now makes most of his money from public appearances, where he sings and performs stand-up comedy.

Researchers at Lund University hospital were in for a surprise when they conducted a CT scan of a mummified Scandinavian bishop, and spotted the remains of a tiny fetus tucked under the bishop’s feet. The mummy belongs to Bishop Peder Winstrup, a prominent historical figure in Scandinavia who died in 1679. Archaeologists have been speculating as to the reason for the fetus’ placement in Winstrup’s coffin.

Discovery News reports that the finding was made when testing was carried out on Winstrup’s remains in the hope of learning more about the health and lives of people in Medieval Scandinavia.

“Peder Winstrup, a bishop and prominent historical figure in Scandinavia, was one of the founding fathers of Lund University,” reports Lund University in a press release. “He died in 1679 and was buried in the famous cathedral in Lund a year later. The coffin, together with its contents, constitutes a unique time capsule from the year 1679 with a well-preserved body, textiles and plant material.”

Lund University reports that Winstrup’s remains had become naturally mummified as a result of “constant air flow, the plant material in the coffin, a long period of illness resulting in the body becoming lean, death and burial during the winter months of December‒January and the general climate and temperature conditions in the cathedral”.

Scanning revealed that Winstrup suffered numerous physical ailments including tuberculosis, pneumonia, atherosclerosis, gallstones, osteoarthritis, and a shoulder injury.

During the scan of Winstrup’s mummified remains, researchers spotted something highly unusual – the remains of a tiny fetus tucked under the bishop’s feet.

“One of the main discoveries when we conducted the CT scanning was that Mr Winstrup is not alone in the coffin. Actually he has a companion – a small child, a 5 to 6-month old fetus,” said Per Karsten, Museum Director of Lund University’s Historical Museum.

Karsten speculated that the fetus may either be a relation of Winstrup, or may have been an illegitimate child that was placed there by someone unrelated to him, who wanted to sneak the infant remains into his coffin in order to receive a proper burial.

“It has been deliberately concealed under his feet at the bottom of the coffin,” said Karsten. “Maybe there is a connection between Winstrup and this child, but I think it is more appropriate to think that he has been concealed by some other members of the bishop’s staff when organizing his funeral,” he added.

A DNA analysis is now going to be carried out on the fetus and the bishop to determine whether there is any blood relation between them. Should the fetus be identified as the offspring of the 74-year-old bishop, the results could be quite scandalous.

The remains of Peder Winstrup and his tiny companion will be reburied once the testing has concluded. A video of the research can be viewed below.

Human-like But Strangely Disfigured Bodies

If there is one thing, more than any other, that is guaranteed to get the Roswell UFO research community in a collective state of fury, it’s a discussion of the theory that what came down on the Foster Ranch, Lincoln County, New Mexico in the summer of 1947 was a top secret device of terrestrial, rather than extra-terrestrial origins.

Clenched fists, red faces, stuttering and stammering, and arms folded tightly and defensively are the usual reactions to such discussions. I even saw a spontaneous nosebleed once. No joke. And when you see that happen you just know the person has lost the plot. Yep, I’ve seen them all. Well, aside from one.

I have yet to see foaming at the mouth coupled with 28 Days Later-style rage, but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time. Which is fine by me: a good punch-up would help clear the air. Okay, admittedly, it might not clear the air, but fist connecting to jaw is definitely something to look forward to.

One person who was – initially, at least – very vocal on the issue of whether or not some form of secret terrestrial device came to grief at Roswell was a former employee of the CIA, the Marine Corps, and the Air Force, and who later became the Special Assistant for Defense, Space and Science and Technology, in the House of Representatives – the late Karl Pflock.

Commenting in 1994 on the allegations that alien bodies were recovered in New Mexico as part of the so-called Roswell incident, Pflock was willing, at the time, to conclude that there were indeed “human-like but strangely disfigured bodies” found in the New Mexico desert in 1947, and that those same bodies were “associated with some very unusual wreckage.”

Pflock was, however, careful to point out that: “Even if there were bodies – and I believe there were – they may not have been of unearthly origin. In which case, Roswell turns out to be a significant chapter in early Cold War history, akin to the currently unfolding disclosures about the U.S. government radiation experiments spawned in the same era.”

It’s very important to note that Pflock later changed his opinion – and changed it radically too. He became a champion of the theory that what was recovered at Roswell was nothing more extraordinary than a Mogul balloon. Yet, it is interesting that his initial thoughts veered towards the possibility of an event paralleling, in some fashion, “government radiation experiments.”

On a similar path, in a 1991 “status report” titled UFO Crash/Retrievals: The Inner Sanctum, the late Leonard Stringfield referenced a curious and controversial conversation Timothy Cooper – he of MJ12 infamy – had with a former nurse stationed at what is now the Los Alamos National Laboratory, New Mexico. In Cooper’s own words, presented by Stringfield in UFO Crash/Retrievals:

“She casually mentioned to me over coffee that ‘bodies’ were being flown to Los Alamos periodically from late 1945 to sometime in 1947. I asked her if she had seen these ‘bodies’ and she said no, but others had. I asked her where these ‘bodies’ were coming from. She said she did not know but it was rumored that they were human experiments for biological and nuclear medicine research.

“She thought they may have come from Japan after the war. She said they were small bodies with deformed heads and limbs. The eyes were abnormally big she was told. She said they were being flown in on special transport planes equipped with refrigerator units to keep the bodies from decomposing.”

To what extent the stories and rumors that reached the nurse were true is anyone’s guess. Fact, fiction, lies, or disinformation? I have no idea. There’s only one thing I know for sure when it comes to a discussion of such inflammatory issues in relation to Roswell: no-one wants to hear a word about it. Yep, belief-systems mean a hell of a lot to those who simply cannot face contemplating life without their bunch of long-dead aliens. Or, as I prefer it, their comfort-blankets.

10 Insane UFO Conspiracy Theories That Might Actually Be True

Whether UFOs are actually alien crafts or not, they're extremely interesting to think about. No one knows exactly what they are (hence the name), but there sure are plenty of theories.

Theories like these range from believable, to terrifying, to laughably entertaining.

1. The Black Knight Satellite

Last week, we went in-depth into just what the Black Knight Satellite is (or what it could be). The short version is that the Black Knight is a large satellite that's believed to have been orbiting Earth for the last 300,000 years. No one knows how it got there, but it's been detected by NASA multiple times.

2. John F. Kennedy Killed By CIA

The only thing that conspiracy theorists love more than speculating about UFOs is speculating about JFK's assassination. According to some theorists, just ten days before he was killed in Dallas, President Kennedy demanded "full disclosure" from the CIA regarding their investigations into unidentified flying objects. He also ordered the agency to share all of their UFO data with NASA. To avoid having to disclose their alleged links to UFOs, the CIA had Kennedy killed.

3. The Hologram Plan

This one is weird. In 2009, a strange, blue light formed in the night sky over Norway. While the explanation is likely meteorological, conspiracy theorists declared it to be a failed attempt at implementing Project Blue Beam. The theory goes that the "New World Order" plans to show a holographic projection simulating an alien invasion as a means to seize power. Clearly, they are still working out the kinks in their plan.

4. Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 vs. UFO

Theories abound about the mysterious disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370. The most interesting one claims that it was abducted by a UFO. The proof that believers offer for this particular theory is that the Malaysian air force detected an unidentified flying object on their radar just before the plane disappeared. If that's true, this theory would account for the lack of physical debris usually found in the event of a plane crash.

5. America's Hidden Space Fleet

While the United States has one of the most sophisticated terrestrial militaries in the world, when it comes to space warfare, we're woefully unqualified. Or are we? According to some theorists, NASA's mission for space exploration is merely a front. Their real purpose is to build and maintain a fleet of interstellar war ships that are in orbit above Earth as we speak. The evidence offered for this supposed space fleet is a cryptic reference to something called the Solar Warden Program in a leaked document from the U.S. State Department.

6. 2012 Olympic Alien Invasion

The 2012 Olympic Games were a triumph of human achievement. However, if you were a UFO conspiracy theorist, it was anything but. According to these folks, the 2012 Olympic mascots somehow conveyed a hidden message about an impending alien invasion. Instead of rooting for their home teams, theorists were busy stocking their emergency bunkers. When the invasion didn't happen, it was, of course, classified as a conspiracy. This time, the perpetrators were the Free Masons.

7. Alien Jesus

One of the most widely circulated UFO conspiracy theories out there is that Jesus was actually an alien. This one falls into the Ancient Aliens category of conspiracies. While it seems far out, it would explain pretty much all of Jesus's miracles.

8. Nazi UFOs In Antarctica

In 1946, America mounted a large, unprecedented expedition to Antarctica. The official reason was to beat the Soviets there. However, Nazi supporters maintain that the expedition was mounted to destroy a secret Nazi UFO base located there. The theory continues, saying that the "attack force" was repelled by the superior Nazi technology. In reality, bad weather forced the expedition to make a hasty return.

During a 1955 speech, General MacArthur is said to have made a comment about Earth-wide war against aliens. He urged the world to unite because the next great war could be a battle for Earth's very survival. Conspiracy theorists believe this was a reference to some specific knowledge that MacArthur had about the existence of aliens.

10. NASA Sent Astronauts To Another Planet

While humans have only officially visited the moon, UFO theorists believe humanity has gone much farther. They claim that a dozen astronauts were sent to a planet 37 light-years away called Serpo during the Kennedy administration. They were part of an exchange program implemented by grateful aliens who were saved after their spacecraft crashed in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947.
