An elevator surveillance tape that shows Elisa’s behavior only a few moments before she lost her life can be seen. The four-minute video was also shared on YouTube shows Elisa pressing all of the elevator buttons, waiting for it to move. When she sees that the elevator doors are not closing, she starts behaving extremely odd. When she finally stepped out of the elevator, She is seen waving her arms bizarrely.
The Video did not only went viral on Youtube but it went viral as well on Chinese video site called Youku, with more than 3 million views and 40,000 comments only in a span of 10 days.
People who have seen the video commented that it is so spooky, that she was a human sacrifice for a ritual. Some were claiming she maybe under the influence of alcohol or drugs but her autopsy report debunked that claim.

- Julia Moore jumped from her eighth floor room window on February 11, 1962.
- Pauline Otton jumped from a ninth floor window on October 12, 1962. Otton landed on George Gianinni, 65, who was walking on the side walk, 90 feet below. Both were killed.
The hotel is also known for criminal activity which includes three terrifying murders. Most notably, the hotel was the reported residence for serial killers Richard Ramirez in 1985 and Jack Unterwerger in 1991. Elisa Lam's death is the third murder that happened on the hotel.
