It’s futile for the U.S. and its allies to “blackmail” Russia over the Ukraine crisis, President Vladimir Putin said in a newspaper interview today.

Russia’s partners should remember the risks involved in disputes between nuclear powers, Putin said. He accused Barack Obama of adopting a “hostile” approach in namingRussia as a threat to the world in the U.S. president’s speech to the United Nations General Assembly on Sept. 24.

“We hope that our partners will realize the futility of attempts to blackmail Russia and remember what consequences discord between major nuclear powers could bring for strategic stability,” Putin told Serbia’s Politika newspaper on the eve of his visit to the Balkan nation today.

Putin said that Obama had identified Russian aggression in Europe as one of the three “major threats facing humanity,” alongside the Ebola virus and Islamic State.


“Together with the sanctions against entire sectors of our economy, this approach can be called nothing but hostile,” Putin said.

Attempts to pressure Russia with “unilateral and illegitimate restrictive measures” will impede efforts to settle the crisis, he said.

“How can we talk about de-escalation in Ukraine while the decisions on new sanctions are introduced almost simultaneously with the agreements on the peace process?” he said. “If the main goal is to isolate our country, it’s an absurd and illusory goal.”

Looking through historical texts, he found no mention of the shroud before 1355 - somewhat odd for an item of such apparent religious significance.

He then notes that the artefact was acquired by the House of Savoy - one of the oldest royal familes in the world - and turned into a ‘high-prestige relic’ in 1453, reports The Guardian.

But following this he found that depictions of the shroud, including an engraving by artist Anotonio Tempesta in 1613, were different from the shroud we know today.

They focused on features that are no longer easy to spot, including the Crown of Thorns and long hair on Christ’s neck.

In addition, it is no longer easy to see that the figure in the shroud was once covered in blood and marks from where he had been struck.

‘Astonishingly, few researchers appear to have grasped that the shroud looked very different in the 16th and 17th centuries from the object we see today,’ Freeman writes.


This leads him to believe that the shroud was mostly likely just a prop used in medieval Easter rituals.

He believed it was used in a ceremony called the ‘Quem Quaeritis?’ or ‘whom do you seek?’

This ceremony involved re-enacting gospel accounts of the resurrection.

‘They would enter a makeshift tomb and bring out the grave clothes to show that Christ had indeed risen,’ Freeman says.

The shroud is set to be exhibited next year in Turin for the first time in five years, with two million people expected to visit it.

JESUS NEVER EXISTED, CLAIMS EXPERT

Writer Michael Paulkovich has claimed that there is little evidence for a person known as Jesus existing in history.

Jesus is thought to have lived from about 7BC to 33AD in the Roman Empire.

However Paulkovich says he found little to no mention of the supposed messiah in 126 texts written in the first to third centuries.

Only one mention of Jesus was present, in a book by Roman historian Josephus Flavius, but he says this was added by later editors.

He says this is surprising despite the ‘alleged worldwide fame’ of Jesus. This has led him to believe that Jesus was a 'mythical character'.

WHAT IS THE TURIN SHROUD?

The linen cloth, believed by some to have wrapped the body of Jesus Christ, has captivated the imagination of historians, church chiefs, sceptics and Catholics for more than 500 years.

There are no definite historical records concerning the shroud prior to the 14th century. Although there are numerous reports of Jesus' burial shroud, or an image of his head, of unknown origin, being venerated in various locations before the 14th century.

But there is no historical evidence that these refer to the shroud currently at Turin Cathedral. A burial cloth, which some historians maintain was the Shroud, was owned by the Byzantine emperors but disappeared during the Sack of Constantinople in 1204.

Historical records seem to indicate that a shroud bearing an image of a crucified man existed in the small town of Lirey around the years 1353 to 1357. It was in the possession of a French Knight, Geoffroi de Charny, who died at the Battle of Poitiers in 1356.

However the correspondence of this shroud with the shroud in Turin, and its very origin has been debated by scholars and lay authors, with claims of forgery attributed to artists born a century apart. Some contend that the Lirey shroud was the work of a confessed forger and murderer.

The history of the shroud from the 15th century is well recorded. In 1532, the shroud suffered damage from a fire in a chapel of Chambéry, capital of the Savoy region, where it was stored.

A drop of molten silver from the reliquary produced a symmetrically placed mark through the layers of the folded cloth. Poor Clare Nuns attempted to repair this damage with patches.

In 1578 Emmanuel Philibert, Duke of Savoy ordered the cloth to be brought from Chambéry to Turin and it has remained at Turin ever since.

The shroud has had many notorious admirers. It even obsessed Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, who wanted to steal it so he could use it in a black magic ceremony.

In May 2010, five years after he became Pope, Benedict authorised a public viewing of the Shroud - the first since 2000.

In 350 B.C., mathematician and founding father of mechanics Archytas of Tarentum invented a wooden mechanical dove.

“Archytas’ invention is often cited as the first robot, and, in light of recent technological advancements, perhaps we could even consider it to be the first drone; the very first machine capable of autonomous flight,” wrote Jimmy Stamp in a Smithsonian article.

Stamp isn’t the only one to consider this flying dove a pioneering drone. A modern unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)—i.e., a drone—developed by the Aeronautics Department at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School was named for Archytas in 1993.


The writings of Aulus Gellius, a Roman, describe the automaton as steam-propelled. Few details are given about the object, which was said to have mystified and amused the citizens of Tarentum, according toeducational materials developed by NASA. NASA described it as “one of the first devices to successfully employ the principles essential to rocket flight.”

While steam propelled the bird, it’s motion may have been guided by wires. It may have actually been a catapult, according to the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.

The Encyclopedia states: “It has been suggested that, since ancient siege devices were called by the names of animals (e.g., ‘tortoise’ and ‘crow’), Archytas’ ‘dove’ might have been an early catapult of his devising, or a projectile hurled by such a catapult, which was later misunderstood to be a mechanical dove. … However, no ancient source explains the dove in this way.”

About 300 years after Archytas built his dove, the Greek inventor Hero of Alexandria built what’s considered the first steam engine on similar principles. A fire under a kettle heated water, creating steam that was channeled through two L-shaped tubes on either side of a sphere, causing the sphere to rotate. The device was called an aeolipile.

A delicate dating method has determined that cave paintings on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi are almost certainly more than 40,000 years old — and that means we'll have to change our perspective on the start of artistry.

The findings, published in this week's issue of the journal Nature, suggest that at the same time European cave artists were making hand stencils and depicting the animals they hunted, ancient humans spread across Asia's archipelagos were doing the same thing thousands of miles away.

"Cave painting and related forms of artistic expression were most likely part of the cultural traditions of the first modern humans to spread out of Africa and into Asia and Australia, long before they reached Europe," Adam Brunn, one of the study's co-authors at Griffith University in Australia, said in a news release.


The international research project was led by Maxime Aubert, a colleague of Brunn's at Griffith.

The Sulawesi paintings were discovered inside limestone karst caves in the island's Maros and Pangkep regions, and have been documented over the course of decades. They include stencils that were created by blowing or spraying reddish pigment around hands that were pressed against the rock surface — as well as sketches of animals, such as the fruit-eating pigs known as babirusas or "pig-deers."

The key question is, how old are those paintings? To answer that question, the research team used tools tipped with diamond saw blades to scrape off millimeter-thick slivers of thin mineral deposits that covered the paintings. The deposits, known as "cave popcorn," were subjected to uranium-thorium radioisotope dating techniques. Because the popcorn built up over the paintings, the results could provide a minimum age for the artwork.

Aubert and his colleagues found that one of the 12 hand stencils they sampled was at least 39,900 years old, and that the pig-deer drawing was made at least 35,400 years ago. That would make the stencil the oldest of its type known in the world, and rank the pig-deer among the world's oldest representational drawings.


Comparable dating techniques have come up with an age of 37,000 years for a hand stencil in Spain's El Castillo cave, and 40,800 years for a red disk in the same cave. Radiocarbon dating suggests that a rhinoceros painting in France's Chauvet cave was created between 32,000 and 39,000 years ago, and traces of red paint found in Italy's Fumane cave suggest that paintings were created there between 36,000 and 41,000 years ago.

"Europeans can't exclusively claim to be the first to develop an abstract mind anymore. They need to share this, at least, with the early inhabitants of Indonesia," study co-author Antonio Dosseto, director of the Wollongong Isotope Geochronology Laboratory at the University of Wollongong in Australia, said in a news release.

Other evidence from Asia suggests that the culture of cave painting could go back significantly further. In a Nature commentary, Leiden University archaeologist Wil Roebroeks notes that worn ochre crayons have been recovered from 50,000-year-old deposits in northern Australia's Arnhem Land.

Roebroeks, who was not a part of Aubert's team, said the latest findings were "spectacular"— but noted that the paintings themselves were facing 21st-century threats.

"Aubert and colleagues' study underlines the great cultural-historical importance of the Maros area, which is under threat from large-scale limestone mining," Roebroeks wrote.

In addition to Aubert, Brumm and Dosseto, the authors of "Pleistocene Cave Art From Sulawesi, Indonesia"include Muhammad Ramli, Budianto Hakim, E. Wahyu Saptomo, Thomas Sutikna, Gert van den Bergh. Les Kinsley and the late Michael Morwood.

A street camera captured what some viewers dubbed a “giant ghost” jaywalking in the streets of New Orleans.

The video was reportedly sent to YouTube user Mister Enigma last week by Jackson, a viewer from the city who realized the anomaly on an EarthCam live stream. The camera is located on Bourbon street, the oldest neighborhood in New Orleans, extending thirteen blocks from Canal Street to Esplanade Avenue and flooded with bars and strip clubs. It is not clear when the oddity originally took place.

“As you can see here, the giant figure appears walking across the street before fading out seconds later,” Mister Enigma said.

At first, it looks like the strange occurrence could have been easily doctored, but according to the YouTuber, two people walking nearby appear to notice the “shadow-like being”.

“The older gentleman notices it and alerts his friend,” he explains.

“Seconds later,” he says, “the rest of the crowd are glued into what has just happened.”


But could it be that they are simply a group tourists looking at some of the most famous Mardi Grass spots in “The Big Easy”?

Viewers have their own theories about the “entity”.

“A shadow figure, rather common in the certain locations with deep history,” says YouTube user VTSRIK.
Bourbon street was spared by hurricane Katrina in 2005 and left mostly intact due to its high ground location.

“I don’t know what to make of this, but it sure as hell looks creepy. Could these things be ghosts? Imprints of a once life lived….or maybe even interdimensional beings that dwell very closely to our own existence?” Mister Enigma said.

Freemasonry is a fraternal organisation that can actually be traced to the local fraternities of stonemasons, which from the end of the fourteenth century have regulated the qualifications of masons and their interaction with authorities and society. There are several degrees of freemasonry, its gradal system, retain the three grades of medieval craft guilds: Apprentice, journeyman (now called Fellowcraft) and Master Mason. These are the degrees offered by craft, or blue lodge Freemasonry. There are additional degrees, which vary with locality and jurisdiction, and are administered by different bodies than the craft degrees.

One of the most important Freemasons in History is US President George Washington (the first Masonic President).

George Washington. joined the Masonic Lodge in Fredericksburg, Virginia when he was only 20 years old, in 1752. During the War for Independence, General Washington attended Masonic celebration and religious observances in several states. He also supported Masonic Lodges that formed within army regiments, and at his first inauguration in 1791, President Washington took his oath of office on a Bible from St. John’s Lodge in New York.

During his two terms, he visited Masons in North and South Carolina and presided over the cornerstone ceremony for the U.S. Capitol in 1793 which was performed under masonic ceremony.


In retirement, Washington became charter Master of the newly chartered Alexandria Lodge No. 22, sat for a portrait in his Masonic regalia, and in death, was buried with Masonic honors. But the truth about Freemasonry and the connection to our History, and American history is quit surprising.

Believe it or not, Freemasonry is America’s largest and oldest fraternity, it has been very important part of community life in the United States for over two hundred and fifty years. Freemasonry is an initiatic society which according to the research we have done, seeks “to unite men of differing beliefs into a harmonious and productive community through the application of Masonic moral values and the practice of benevolence, intellectual development, and mutual respect.”

It is not known where Freemasonry began, but we do know that the earliest recorded ‘making’ of a Freemason in England is that of Elias Ashmole in 1646.


Organized Freemasonry began with the founding of the Grand Lodge of England on the 24th of June 1717, on St John’s Day actually, which was the first Grand Lodge in the world. Shortly after that, Ireland followed in 1725 and so did Scotland in 1736.

According to History, all the regular Grand Lodges in the world can be traced back to one or more of the Grand Lodges in the British Isles.

There are two main theories of origin. According to one, the operative stonemasons who built the great cathedrals and castles had lodges in which they discussed trade affairs. They had simple initiation ceremonies and, as there were no City and Guilds certificates, dues cards or trade union membership cards, they adopted secret signs and words to prove that they were trained masons when they moved from site to site. In the 1600s, these operative lodges began to accept non-operatives as “gentlemen masons”. Gradually these non-operatives took over the lodges and turned them from operative to ‘free and accepted’ or ‘speculative’ lodges. The other theory is that in the late 1500s and early 1600s, there was a group, which was interested in the promotion of religious and political tolerance in an age of great intolerance when differences of opinion on matters of religion and politics were to lead to bloody civil war. In forming Freemasonry, they were trying to make better men and build a better world.


As the means of teaching in those days was by allegory and symbolism, they took the idea of building as the central allegory on which to form their system. The main source of allegory was the Bible, the contents of which were known to everyone even if they could not read, and the only building described in detail in the Bible was King Solomon’s Temple, which became the basis of the ritual. The old trade guilds provided them with their basic administration of a Master, Wardens, Treasurer and Secretary, and the operative mason’s tools provided them with a wealth of symbols with which to illustrate the moral teachings of Freemasonry.

Shortly before Boyd Bushman a renowned Area 51 scientist passed away on August 7, 2014, he was video recorded candidly speaking about his personal experiences with Area 51, UFOs, aliens and anti-gravity ideas.

A new trend in Japanese pop culture could have dire consequences for dolphin populations worldwide warn World Wildlife Fund experts.

A new noodle soup made of dolphin fins and articulations is the hottest product on Japanese grocery shelves as consumers are buying the food item produced by Nippon Jay like there was no tomorrow.

The Tokyo based company that manufactures the noodles that have been available on the market for the past two weeks is victim of it’s own success as the demand has exceeded current production, the problem being that dolphins are not highly commercialized as food, a situation the company vows to change.


The trend started when Nippon Jay’s marketing team decided to exploit the unusual habit of a popular japanese figure of the hit comedy show YOGOYA!, where one of the characters claims she must eat only dolphin noodle soup to preserve a beautiful skin.

“It just came to me as a really good idea” acknowledges marketing director Jennifer Wasamoto. “Millions of people love to watch the show, why not give them what they want?” she adds.

Comedian Nihonji Yakuta plays the role of Ashiban, a woman in her thirties who believes she can get rid of her wrinkles if she keeps eating only dolphin food products, a trend Nippon Jay’s marketing team has successfully capitalized on.


World Wildlife Fund spokesman Jane Glitter has warned the scientific community that “such an attack on dolphin populations world wide” could create “a dramatic downfall in existing dolphin populations” and is seen as a direct threat to the survival of the species.

A CDC whistleblower has recently gone on record to expose nefarious government plans which would use the impending US Ebola pandemic as an opportunity to implant RFID technology in American citizens.

Brent Hopskins was a CDC contractor before coming forward with serious allegations against his former employer. Hopskins claims that an Ebola vaccine has been prepared for the general public in the form of disposable, one-use syringes. The downside, however, is that each of these syringes will contain not only the vaccine, but a micro RFID chip as well.

CDC officials intend to issue these syringe packages to over 200, 000 households by December 1st. Consumers will also be able to request the Ebola vaccine at their local drug store.Hopskins also indicates that the RFID chip will work toward more easily identifying and separating those who have been inoculated and those who have not. Individuals who refuse to receive the Ebola vaccination will face serious hurdles in gaining employment, visiting public places, obtaining future medical care, and even potential prison time.


During correspondence with National Report, Brent Hopskins is quoted as saying, “I cannot sit idly by as these atrocities unfold… The American government wants to implant RFID chips in every man, woman and child. They are now using the threat of Ebola to push this nefarious plot. The public is forced to make a decision between the horrible demise that Ebola offers, or relinquish every ounce of their privacy by getting an RFID chip implanted under their skin.

Many Americans have expressed concern that the CDC officials are collaborating with the government to use this new system as a way to introduce martial law. Others, such as popular radio host, Alex Jones, insist that the deadly virus was deliberately planted on US soil to thin the ever-growing population. As Hopskins puts it, “This is a baby step towards complete control of the masses who have grown increasingly frustrated and distrustful of the powers that be. The ultimate goal of the United StatesGovernment is to enslave all people who fall bellow a particular tax bracket and Ebola is how they’re going to do it.”

An 18-year old woman from Louisiana is suing her parents for 4.8M$ for naming her Clamidya, a name she claims has made her life a living Hell.


The young woman that has barely left her parents home a few days ago to move into her own apartment has decided to make her parents pay dearly the decision she claims completely destroyed her life.

The woman who suffers from weight problems and important psychological issues, having survived twelve suicide attempts in five years, is suing her parents for the psychological trauma their decision has caused her.


The name Clamidya, which is eerily similar to the sexually transmitted disease, Chlamydia trachomatis, commonly called Chlamydia, was an easy target for her high school companions who made it a full time job of making her feel embarrassed and bullying her.

“I don’t expect to work another day in my life after the Hell they made me go through” claims the young woman.

“I want them to pay for my name change and my new life. I don’t want to be called Clamidya ever again!” expressed the young girl in court this morning. “No wonder I am still a virgin at 18 with such a name” she added.

Captain John Bennett and his crew were stunned when they dragged onto their fishing boat a creature with tentacles like fire hoses and eyes like dinner plates, while fishing in Antarctica’s remote Ross Sea. It was an enormous 350 kg (770 pound) squid which they had hauled up from one mile below the surface. Could this have been the creature that inspired tales of the legendary Kraken, rumoured to devour men and crush ships?

The colossal squid, which measures the length of a minibus, was caught 8 months ago and has been kept frozen until this week, when scientists finally thawed it out in a bid to unlock the mysteries of this rarely seen monster of the deep.

Kat Bolstad, a squid scientist from the Auckland University of Technology who is leading the team examining the creature, told Associated Press that it was “an almost unparalleled opportunity” to examine the colossus in the hope of finding out how the colossal squid lives, how it fits into the food chain, and how much genetic variation there is among different squid types. About 142,000 people from 180 countries watched streaming footage of the squid examination on the Internet.


Bolstad said that it's possible that ancient sightings of the colossal squid gave rise to tales of the Kraken. The Kraken is a giant sea creature in Scandinavian mythology which was depicted as great beast that would attack ships and was so huge that its body could be mistaken for an island.

Kat Bolstad explained that sperm whales often eat colossal squid and are known to play with their food, so sailors may have mistaken that for epic battles.

LOS ANGELES — Amanda Bynes’ claim that a microchip implanted in her brain made her tweet bad things about her father could be key evidence in keeping the actress in a mental facility, according to experts.

Bynes, 28, was admitted to a Pasadena, California, facility on an involuntary emergency psychiatric hold Friday, but a probable cause hearing must be held this week if her doctors want to keep her there.

Her admission to Las Encinas Hospital came hours after Bynes posted a series of tweets alleging her father verbally, physically and sexually abused her.

However, she disavowed responsibility for the accusations in a tweet a short time later: “My dad never did any of those things The microchip in my brain made me say those things but he’s the one that ordered them to microchip me.”

Bynes then boarded a flight from New York to Los Angeles, where she told reporters at the airport that she was there to file a lawsuit against her parents.

While she was told that a limo driver was taking her to a lawyer’s office in Pasadena before going to a West Hollywood hotel, she was instead driven to the hospital — which resembles an office park — where her parents’ lawyer was waiting for her.

“In a perfect world, one would be honest about getting a person into a psychiatric hospital, but from her past behavior we have seen that Amanda Bynes avoids psychiatric hospitals at all cost because she doesn’t believe that she’s sick,” Dr. Carole Lieberman, a Los Angeles psychiatrist who has followed Bynes’ story, told CNN on Sunday.

If the psychiatrists at Las Encinas Hospital decide to extend Bynes’ involuntary treatment beyond the initial 72 hours allowed for evaluation under California’s “5150” law, they must convince a mental health referee that she is “a danger to self, to others or is gravely disabled,” Lieberman said.

There does not have to be any expressed desire to kill herself, but the doctors need to show evidence that her behavior was so dangerous that it “presented a risk to herself, if not others,” Lieberman said.

One reason for keeping psychiatric patients on an involuntary hold is if they are “having auditory hallucinations” or they are “responding to internal stimuli,” according to guidelines on the Los Angeles County Superior Court website.



Unless Bynes volunteers to stay in treatment, the doctors must make their case, according to attorney Wendy Patrick. “They can’t just make up evidence. It has to be true and observable. The hearing is not just a rubber stamp.”

Her tweet about a microchip forcing her to write negative things about her father would not be the only potential evidence, based on her very public history of odd behavior and several criminal charges.

Bynes was arrested on a DUI charge in Sherman Oaks, California, last month. Her arrest report noted a “disheveled appearance.”

Her last several days in New York included an incident at a clothing store in which security officers accused her of shoplifting. She was let go after signing a “no-trespass agreement,” TMZ reported.

Bynes was charged with a hit-and-run in 2012, hospitalized for treatment last year after a psychological evaluation and put on probation after a DUI earlier this year.

And she was arrested after allegedly tossing drug paraphernalia out of the window of her New York apartment in May 2013.

This is the second time Bynes has been placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold. The previous instance came in July 2013 after she was “involved in a disturbance in a residential neighborhood” in Thousand Oaks, California. She eventually entered an inpatient psychiatric facility and was later released into her parents’ custody.

The latest episodes of odd behavior come a year after her parents told CNN their daughter was “making great strides towards recovery” from mental illness.

She enrolled into the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles at the start of 2014, but she dropped out in the summer.

Bynes’ parents will not be allowed to attend the administrative hearing, which would be held at the hospital, unless their daughter invites them, according to court guidelines. They have not publicly indicated if they will ask a judge to give them legal control of their daughter under a conservatorship.

Lieberman said if Bynes is returned to a conservatorship under her parents, as was done last year, they need to work with a psychiatrist to “work out the family dysfunction.”

People magazine reported in 2012 that Bynes tried to emancipate herself while still a minor, though she never moved out entirely.

Images emerged of officials loading the second Dallas nurse diagnosed with Ebola onto a plane headed for Atlanta where she is set to receive treatment at Emory University Hospital — and Americans quickly noticed something very strange about the scene.

Among several workers wearing hazmat suits on the runway of Dallas Love Field is a man wearing plain clothes and no apparent protective gear.


NBC DFW explains what occurred on the runway:

The unidentified man stood very near another hazmat-suited worker and then took what appeared to be a container from one of the suited workers. He placed it on the steps to the jet and walked out of view.

He then reappeared as one of the PPE-suited workers came off the plane with red hazmat bags. He took what appeared to be a not-yet-used red bag from the worker in protective gear, then handed it to the workers as they bagged up items from the ambulance ride.

Then he conversed with two workers wearing respirators while the red hazmat bags were loaded onto the plane. He then grabbed the container from the stairs and got on the plane which departed Love Field en route to Atlanta.

The news station had not determined why the man wasn’t required to wear protective gear, though it was speculated that he may have been a member of the flight crew in charge of flying Vinson to Atlanta.

Airline Offers Explanation for Unprotected Man Seen During Ebola Patient Transport

The man observing Wednesday’s transport of the Dallas nurse without a hazmat suit on was a “protocol supervisor” who wasn’t wearing protective gear for a “higher level of safety,” an airline representative said.

“Our medical professionals in the biohazard suits have limited vision and mobility and it is the protocol supervisor’s job to watch each person carefully and give them verbal directions to ensure no close-contact protocols are violated,” a Phoenix Air representative told ABC News. “There is absolutely no problem with this and in fact ensures an even higher level of safety for all involved.”


The patient, 29-year-old Amber Vinson, was being flown to Emory Hospital for treatment after becoming the second Dallas health worker to test positive for Ebola virus after caring for Thomas Eric Duncan.

An official said Thursday that Nina Pham, the first nurse diagnosed with Ebola after treating Duncan, would be moved to a National Institutes of Health facility just outside of Washington, D.C., for treatment.

ABC News reports that the man is a supervisor for Phoenix Air, the company that flew Miss Vinson from Dallas to Atlanta.

When the plane landed in Atlanta, the man had still not donned any protective clothing and was seen openly interacting with Vinson and the other medical professionals caring for the nurse.


Members of the public watching were struck with disbelief at the man’s decision to throw caution to the wind.

‘He needs to be put on watch the second the plane lands so he does not infect anyone in Atlanta. This needs to be contained and I for one will be ticked of I hear a report next week that he is the next victim!’ Dean Pitts wrote on NBC Dallas’ website.

A CDC spokesman told KTVT that they didn’t think anything was wrong with the interaction since he ‘kept a safe distance’.

Miss Vinson’s flight landed in Atlanta around 7:45pm Eastern Time.

Social media was as equally impressed as they were dumbfounded by the man who has quickly become known as ‘clipboard man’ online.

The mystery man on the tarmac is just the latest questionable practice highlighted in the CDC’s handling of the Ebola outbreak in America, which started when Liberian patient Thomas Eric Duncan was initially turned away from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital last month after reporting a high fever.

In March 1991, Random House published The Seeker’s Handbook – The Complete Guide to Spiritual Pathfinding (TSH).

The book was carefully timed to serve the need it defined, a need I identified in the social-spiritual trends of that moment: namely, the need for orientation to, and clarification of, the options presented in the New Age movement (NAM), loosely known as alternative spirituality.

The dawn of the 1990s saw that movement peaking. My intention with this book was to offer a pathfinding tool, something like an intellectual compass for navigating through the huge array of books, teachers, programs, and practices that had been proliferating massively since the 1960s.


To that end, I proposed the metaphor of the labyrinth to describe the multiple winding pathways facing modern truth-seekers.

I also suggested that in our time, due to the very multiplicity of options for spiritual development – everything from Baha’i to Buddhism to body work, from alchemy to zen – the task of pathfinding itself becomes an art.

Sorting out what principle, program, or person you are going to follow in undertaking a spiritual practice to guide your life is on its own terms a challenging practice, regardless of which practice you finally adopt! This observation is as true now, I would say, as it was when I wrote the book.

The Hermetica

It has not always been so, of course. I dedicated a long section of TSH to describe “how the radio came to the beach.” That is to say, how it developed historically that Western society today faces such a vast range of options for self-development along spiritual, metaphysical, and mystical lines.

Without going back beyond the Dark Ages to the destruction of the Mysteries – another investigation, covered at length in Not in His Image – I came forward from the Renaissance.

The key event that laid the foundation for today’s eclectic New Age spirituality was the discovery of a sheaf of writings entitled the Hermetica.


The Lexicon of 1,000 entries in TSH defines Hermetics:
From Greek, Hermes, equivalent to the Egyptian Thoth, the God of writing, calculation and the sacred arts. Loosely, the body of technical and inspirational teachings believed to be derived from the secret schools of the Egyptian Mysteries.

Specifically, the corpus of thirteen rare manuscripts introduced into Europe in the 15th century, which opened the way to independent spiritual seeking in the West, especially through disclosure of the concept of theogeny.

The inception of New Age spiritual pathfinding happened in an almost single-handed way due to the influence of a Florentine nobleman, Cosimo de Medici (1389-1464). When he received the Egyptian manuscripts, Cosimo deemed the “ancient wisdom” preserved therein to be of higher value than the Bible, and predating Moses.

He instructed Marsilio Ficino, appointed by him to head the Florentine Academy of Arts and Sciences, to translate the Hermetica from Greek into Latin for the edification of the trendy Italian intelligentsia of his court.

In that single act, Cosimo initiated a chain of events that led ultimately to the New Age movement of today.

TSH summarises sixteen key themes of the modern alternative spirituality, contrasted to conventional faiths such as Judaism, Christianity (Roman, Protestant, and Orthodox), and Islam:

1. ancient wisdom,
2. Gaia, goddess revival,
3. shamanism,
4. masters,
5. planetisation,
6. channeling,
7. holistics and healing arts,
8. East/West studies,
9. martial arts and the warrior path,
10. paranormal reality and psychic powers,
11. reincarnation,
12. earth changes,
13. service and group effort (Aquarian idealism),
14. metahistory (parallel or secret history),
15. para-physics, chaos/complexity theory, physics of consciousness,
16. co-creation.

In the context of this essay, the final theme has a telling import. In the ultimate sense, it could be said that the Hermetica introduced two closely linked themes into Western society, and from this dyad all other aspects and ramifications of the New Age outlook are generated.

These themes are co-creation, “you create your own reality,” and theogeny, “you become as gods, knowing good and evil.”

Theogeny is a made-up word I propose, not to be confused with theogony, meaning an account of the origin and genealogy of the gods – as found in Hesiod’s poem, Theogony, for instance.

Theogeny means “the birth or genesis (-geneos) of divine potential (theo-) in the human species.”

The assertion of this god-like potential and the call to cultivate it, is the hallmark of New Age philosophy and ethics at its best. It is also the key point of heresy that distinguishes alternative spirituality from conventional faith.


Not Illuminati

Gnostics of the Mysteries designated the root of human potential by the Greek word nous, “divine intelligence,” basis of the term noetic.

The Mystery Schools were a network of regional campuses where illumined teachers called telestai, “those who are aimed,” taught a vast range of sciences, arts, and vocations.

These illumined teachers were most certainly NOT illuminati-type psychopaths bent on mind control and social engineering.

They were dedicated teachers who had attained an advanced realisation of the nature of consciousness (noesis) and the consciousness of nature (epitomised in a living being, the goddess Sophia, also called Sapientia). In Fragments of a Faith Forgotten, Theosophic scholar G.R.S.


Mead restated “the persistent tradition in connection with all the great Mystery-institutions was that their several founders were the introducers of all the arts of civilisation… they were the teachers of the infant races [who] taught the arts, the nature of the gods, the unseen worlds, cosmology, anthropology, etc.” 

Mead’s view is echoed by S. Angus, author of The Mystery-Religions:  

“The Mysteries were the last redoubts of Paganism to fall. Prior to that their adherents were the educators of the ancient world.” 

Today it is widely argued that the Mystery Schools of pre-Christian antiquity were think tanks for the predecessors of the current CEOs of the New World Order (NWO), psychopathic control-freaks who aim to deceive, divide, and enslave humankind.

Investigators such as David Icke and Michael Tsarion expostulate endlessly on the nefarious doings of the NWO gang, making them out to be dazzling adepts of occultism who hold the world under their spell.

Unfortunately, Icke, Tsarion and others consistently attribute NWO methods and aims to Paganism (grossly and ignorantly equated with Satanism) and the Mystery Schools. Nothing could be further from the truth.

At this crucial moment in human history, when the moment comes to defeat the NWO agenda, it is a grotesque mistake to associate the globalist psychopaths with benevolent teachers of the Pagan Mystery Schools.


There does not exist one shred of evidence linking the latter-day NWO agenda, derived from the Bavarian Illuminati of 1776, to those sacred institutions of education and enlightenment.

I have repeatedly emphasised that self-styled detectives of the NWO agenda, having failed to do their homework, wrongly equate the rites of theocratic empowerment in ancient times with initiatory rites in the Mysteries.

But the aim of the Mysteries was connection with the Great Goddess, Sophia, embodied in the earth, not social engineering under the insane presumptions of theocracy.

Failure to make this distinction has mislead many investigators, not to mention those who uncritically follow them.

The fact that some modern (alleged or self-declared) Illuminati might attribute their origins to the Mysteries does not mean it is so. In reality, the distinguishing mark of the Illuminati today is the patent error, not to say insanity, of their views on themselves, their power, and their origins!

The Illuminati represent the extreme distortion of human egotism toward behaviours of psychotic deviance that threaten all life on earth. That behaviour identifies the Illuminati, regardless of what principles and pretensions are assigned to them, and no matter what ancient pedigree they attribute to themselves.
That behaviour is what has to end right now if humanity is to survive and thrive in an “Aquarian” world based on social enlightenment, harmony with nature, and mutual aid.


NWO Endgame

Many developments unfolded after the Renaissance, leading to the New Age movement (NAM) as it stands today… I cannot possibly summarise even the basic outlines of this trajectory in a short essay. (Readers may consult TSH for a more complete treatment.)


Suffice it to say that the NWO agenda, if it is to be defeated, has to be seen as it relates to the New Age agenda. One must ask, how are the two related? Both present visions for a global or planet-wide society, but obviously two extremely different conceptions of such a society.


Or are we considering one vision in two different guises?

It has been argued that the NAM, especially in the visionary scheme formulated by Theosophists Madame Blavatsky and Alice A. Bailey, is nothing but a disingenuous program to sucker people into the NWO nightmare of globalist mind control, disguised as a vast spiritual awakening, guidance by a spiritual elite, the unity of all religions, etc.

The prospect of one world religion would indeed fit into the globalist plan for planet-wide centralisation and domination by a self-elected elite, but was the recent historical version of the NAM platform, following Blavatsky and others, originally conceived with that intention in mind?

Does the Illuminati hell of globalist tyranny, implemented in the style that combines 1984 and Brave New World, incorporate for its purposes the pernicious lure of an Aquarian heaven on earth?

One could debate endlessly on this touchy issue. To do so would open up enough rabbit holes to occupy a team of 1,000 researchers for decades.

For instance, how would you determine if the Lucis Trust – established by Alice A. Bailey to further the aims of the Himalayan Masters of the Great White Brotherhood (GWB), “the externalisation of the hierarchy” – due to having its offices at the United Nations, is accessory to the UN plan for world domination, bureaucratic tyranny, destruction of national sovereignty, elimination of personal and civil rights, etc?

In other words, how can you prove that the hierarchy of Himalayan Masters, alleged to be the “elder brothers” of humanity who guide its long-term evolution, are not backing the NWO? Or that the GWB, whether or not it is a fiction (as I strongly suspect), is not being used as a psyop to that end?

I assure you, anyone undertaking these issues will have one hell of a task to sort out the players, real and fictional, and define the agendas at play, not to mention the strategies for implementing those agendas.

So, allow me to propose a shortcut to determine if the global endgame of the NWO is working in lockstep with the supposed social idealism and religious syncretism of the NAM.

The entire tentacular mess of speculations surrounding this topic can be resolved by considering this question: How do the NWO gang view those two key themes of co-creation and theogeny, compared to the views and assumptions of New Agers on the same matters?

If these two views coincide and complement each other, we can infer that NWO orchestrations of social evil are indeed cooperating with NAM principles, perhaps by deliberately co-opting them, or merely due to contamination, guilt by association.

It remains then for people who place themselves in alignment with New Age idealism to see through their own naiveté and abandon their views, or, if possible, reclaim them from co-optation. Let’s consider in more detail the specifics of this little exercise in spiritual discrimination.


Hijacking Truth


Around 1904, at the height of the Occult Revival in Europe – a late ramification of the Renaissance recovery of Hermetics and Pagan mysticism – self-styled magus Aleister Crowley declared a code for the Aeon of Horus, his version of the Aquarian Age:

“Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will.” 

A great deal has been made of this banal proposition, as if it were a cosmic revelation of sorts. Crowley himself has been ridiculously idolised by a cult following, including David Bowie and many other denizens of the entertainment world – as if such attention whores need a mystical pretext for their egomania. -

Crowley was a sadistic, manipulative narcissist whose delusions of grandeur far exceeded actual skill in the magic arts – though his delusions were to prove highly contagious. The Book of the Law, channeled by his wife Rose Kelly, is endlessly cited as a lofty declaration of magical empowerment.

In fact, the above words present nothing more than a hijacking and distortion of the Wiccan Creed:

“An it harm none, do as ye will.” Significantly, Crowley dropped the crucial qualification, “an it harm none.”

Hence, his thelemic law of magic comes across as an unqualified call for narcissistic indulgence, regardless of how it affects others.

The hijacking of the Wiccan Creed, and its perversion by exclusion of crucial syntax, exemplifies how self-serving psychopaths twist genuine and benevolent alternative spiritual principles to evil ends.

Wicca is a genuine and benevolent path of alternative spirituality and Gaian ethics, closely aligned to the animist path of shamanism common to indigenous cultures around the world – known crudely as “nature worship.”

But whatever is potentially correct for humanity in New Age philosophy can readily be twisted against human benefit.

Almost everything for social control proposed under the NWO agenda today can be evaluated by asking how it adopts and perverts some principle of the New Age movement, or a truth drawn from indigenous wisdom. This is especially so for the two seminal principles that come to definition via Hermetics around 1500: co-creation and theogeny.

Consider theogeny first: correctly understood, this is cultivation of the divine potential inherent to the human species. But hijacked and perverted, it turns into the theocratic con of the ruling elite who take themselves for gods on earth, superhuman rulers of the world.

This is a vivid example of a NAM concept perverted into a NWO imperative. Clearly, the behaviours generated by those who enact this delusion will be destructive to the world at large, and ultimately to themselves.


So it goes with one of the major trends of the NWO agenda, epitomised in the toxic insanity of transhumanism.

Now consider that other key theme, co-creation. According to Hermetic sciences rooted in the Mysteries, co-creation meant the process of humanity achieving its divine potential by working with nature, via alchemical collaboration.

Alchemists of genuine achievement, distinguished from the many charlatans, regarded themselves as heirs of the Hermetic sciences. In that spirit, they advised:

“Nature performeth her operations gradually; and indeed I would have thee do the same: let thy imagination be guided wholly by nature. And observe according to nature, through whom the substances regenerate themselves in the bowels of the earth. And imagine this with true and not with fantastic imagination.” (The Art of Goldmaking, 17th Century)

In the Mystery School tradition, which might be considered the most reliable basis for genuine alternative spirituality in our time, co-creation went hand in hand with theogeny.

The initiates of the Mysteries taught that humankind has been endowed with god-like potential (divine faculties, not divine identity) so that we can develop it within the setting of the divine experiment on this planet, the laboratory of nature.

Clear enough, and that is about as cogent as it gets, perhaps – but what do the NWO psychopaths contrive when they hijack and pervert this proposition? They construct ecofascism as the cover for their program of looting nature and keeping all the spoils for themselves.


Ecofascism is a kind of false flag attack on nature, blaming humanity for posing a lethal threat to the environment and then demanding that humans pay for the crime of breathing.

This ploy is an insidious perversion of the “Great Work” of co-creation: create a unique human reality on earth, an Aquarian utopia, by working in harmony with nature.

Note that this principle so stated avoids the narcissistic assumption that “you (alone) create your own reality.” The assertion that we as a species create reality by using the power of imagination cooperatively with nature is a premise of the Sophianic vision of the Mysteries, recovered today in Planetary Tantra. -

The notion that anyone creates their own reality alone, without interaction with nature and collaboration with other people, is a narcissistic delusion of the New Age.


Discrimination

It may appear that I have tackled the daunting issue of how NWO schemes relate to New Age principles, including the Aquarian ideal, in a somewhat general and roundabout manner.

But it would be impossible to make a satisfactory analysis of particulars in an essay of this length. Also, as I said, the number of rabbit holes to explore would be prohibitive even to a large team of investigators.

Normally, I favour the inductive method of Socrates: argument from individual to general cases. But with the tricky and ambiguous issue of NWO/NAM overlay, the grasp of generalities is essential and favours sorting out the details and particulars of the larger picture.

In my analysis, principles and proposals of New Age or Aquarian Age spirituality may be adopted to the NWO agenda, but they can also remain free of that association. It depends wholly on who is trafficking in these principles and proposals, and for what purposes.

To observe that ecofascism is a hijacked perversion of the alchemical principle of co-creation, does not mean that alchemists were predecessors of the current ecofascist scam.

To observe that Gnostics taught theogeny, our endowment of divine potential, does not mean that Gnostics were forerunners of transhumanism and cybernetic immortality.

To observe that Wiccans revere nature as a living presence does not mean that they are accessory to the insane scheme to depopulate the world on the phony pretext of unburdening Mother Earth.

Deep ecology also asserts that nature has an intrinsic value on its own, regardless of it uses for human purposes.

As I show in Not in His Image, this position is closely aligned to the Sophianic vision of the Mysteries, holding the earth as the embodiment of a divine being, the wisdom goddess.

Any of these legitimate propositions can be perverted to the NWO agenda of domination by the elite, but that does not mean they were originally conceived to support such an agenda.

Let’s get these issues straight on general principles. Then we will be all the more prepared to interpret particular issues and instances in which the NWO agenda appears to draw from alternative spirituality, Wicca, Gnosticism, and Pagan culture.

In conclusion, I might add my personal view that the danger posed by NWO appropriation of alternative spirituality, including shamanism and indigenous wisdom, is amplified by the cowardice and naiveté of New Agers who refuse to look social evil in the face.


Cocooned in their white-light jump suits of magical thinking, New Agers and other fantasists, including proponents of “The Secret,” persist in narcissistic con-games that blind them to the perversions of human nature to be seen in the NWO predators.

But the god-complex of the NWO psychopaths and the self-fulfilling deification of NAM drones, are two poles of the same festering narcissistic disease.

Whether the NWO control-freaks are using New Age idealism or not, the vast majority of New Agers are so lacking in discrimination, not to mention basic savvy for social observation, that they would not even know if their precious ideals were indeed being played in that manner.

That ignorance is the real and present danger inherent to the New Age movement, making it the possible and plausible accessory to insidious agendas of social manipulation and mind control.

Ultimately, the two socio-historical trends leading toward the NWO hell and New Age heaven might converge, which would be a huge victory for the globalist psychopaths.

To prevent such a horrific development, one paramount skill has to be mastered by those who embrace the New Age philosophy of Aquarian idealism – the skill of discrimination.

A Pyramid in Europe? Well… Pyramidsactually!

It is true that new findings will redefine the way we look at history and archaeology. Proof to that is the discovery in Bosnia & Herzegovina and the incredible Pyramid complex found by Dr. Semir “Sam” Osmanagić Ph.D.

According to researchers around the world and the Head of Anthropology at the American University in Bosnia-Herzegovina Dr. Semir Osmanagić, Ph.D.

The Bosnian Pyramids located near the town of Visoko, northwest of Sarajevo are the oldest man made Pyramids that have been discovered on our Planet.

Dr. Semir Osmanagić and his team have spent over 340.000 man-hours in archaeological excavation, sample testing and radiocarbon dating in the period from 2005 to 2013. 


The Pyramid of the Sun, with its 220 meters height, exceeds the Great Pyramid of Egypt, which measures 147 meters (height). But what we find mind-blowing is the fact that the Pyramid’s orientation to the North is accurate with an error of 0 degrees, 0 minutes and 12 seconds. Incredible precision, and this is where the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun has an incredible fact in common with the Great Pyramid of Egypt. the great Pyramid of Egypt resides at the intersection of the longest line of latitude and the longest line of longitude, the exact center of all the land mass in the world. Also each of the four sides aligns almost precisely with the four points of the compass. So we have precision in Egypt that is almost equal to precision found in Bosnia. But how can this be? These two ancient civilizations were not connected.

These strange geometrical shapes were first sighted in 2005 when Dr. Osmanagić traveled to the town of Visoko, and these strange looking hills caught his attention, when you actually travel to the area, these geometrical shapes clearly stand out from the rest and our very difficult to miss.

But how strange is it to find Pyramids in Euorpe? In our opinion its not strange at all. Our planet is full of Pyramids, it doesn’t matter where you decide to look, wherever it is, you will find PYRAMIDS. If you travel to the Americas you will find thousands of Pyramids scattered across the Americas. In Asia we have the same phenomena of huge pyramids invading the horizon and even if you look at Africa you’ll find Pyramids again. Now, finally Europe gets the right to brag about Pyramids, and not just any pyramid, but according to researchers, it is the biggest and oldest Pyramid found to date. It is a huge and marvelous construction that has not yet been fully studied.

In summer of 2013 we analyzed a piece of organic material discovered between two concrete layers. The age was released in September 2013 and it shows 29.200 years +/- 400 years. This finding confirms that the Bosnian pyramids are also the oldest known pyramids on the planet. – Dr. Osmanagić

According to Dr. Osmanagić these finding actually change the way we look at European history in many ways.

And how can it not? But the journey towards the discovery of these incredible structures has been both turbulent and difficult for Dr. Osmanagić and his team. With the lack of support the progress has been slow and difficult, the search area is extensive and some areas are difficult to access. In the last two years the government has refused to support the archaeological excavation process slowing the mapping and discovery further but Dr. Osmanagić and his team are not giving up. It is this Adventurous Spirit that is fueling the archaeological team towards their goal.

The Bosnian Pyramids Project is open to everyone — there are no secrets and most importantly all archaeological discoveries are made public immediately. Dr. Osmanagić and his team hope that this spirit of inclusiveness will inspire everyone who reads this project description to make a donation and help not only archaeology but human history that will be rewritten.

The Beam of light of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun



If the discovery itself isn’t enough, there’s more to the Bosnian Pyramids. Several teams of physicists and electrical engineers from around the world have gathered in Visoko to study these findings and well… they found some interesting things in Bosnia. Researchers have detected and measured an energy beam (electromagnetic in nature) coming through the top of the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun and the details are just incredible. The radius of the beam is 4.5 meters with a frequency of 28 kHz with a strength of 3,9 V.

According to researchers the beam is continuous and its strength grows as it moves up and away from the pyramid. This phenomenon contradicts the known laws of nature, physics and technology and might as well be the first ever “tangible” proof of non-herzian technology found on Earth.

If we look elsewhere on Earth we will find that beams coming out of Pyramids are not a strange phenomena as beams of light have been recorded coming out of the Mayan Kukulkan Pyramid located in Yucatan, Mexico. Interesting huh?

In China we also have reports of strange beams of energy coming out of the Xianyang pyramid, and according to some even the Chinese government has begun monitoring the the Xianyang pyramid as researchers claim, the beam has extraterrestrial origins.

What you have here are Pyramids separated by thousands of miles that share similarities. You have energy beams coming out of american Pyramids, Asian Pyramids and now, you have the biggest known Pyramid, located in Europe that also emits this “unexplained” beam of energy. Could it be that these Pyramids are actually enormous energy machines? If so, what is their actual purpose? And better yet where does this beam lead to?

An “ultrasound” beam found at the Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun comes in regular blocks of 9,3333 Hz with peaks up to 28.3000kHz so what you have here are properties of of energy making constructions, natural formations or natural pyramids do not display these characteristics. By the end of 2012 the source of the beam was located 1.5 miles under the Pyramid and according to researchers it has an estimate power of over 10kW.

Hydrophone recordings conducted in water pools within the Ravne tunnels showed the presence of ultrasound oscillations at 24 kHz and one octave up at 48 kHz whose amplitudes changed in a rhythmic manner. A 38 kHz frequency also appeared erratically. Interestingly, this is 14 kHz higher than the 24 kHz frequency, a difference frequency that is half of the 28 kHz frequency reported coming from the Pyramid of the Sun.


But that’s not all, enormous underground constructions have been discovered as well, chambers, labyrinths and even underground lakes have been found in the area. Energy screenings show that the ionization level has over 43,000 negative ions which is about 200 times higher than the average concentration which makes these underground chambers display healing properties.

Further tests have confirmed that the levels of “negative radiation” through the Hartman, Curry and Schneider grids are equal to zero in the tunnels discovered. There has been no technical radiation nor cosmic radioactivity found in the tunnels. Ceramic sculptures have been discovered over the underground water streams which are positioned in such a manner that the negative energy is converted into positive.

Shambhala, which is a Sanskrit word meaning “place of peace” or “place of silence”, is a mythical paradise spoken of in ancient texts, including the Kalachakra Tantra and the ancient scriptures of the Zhang Zhung culture which predated Tibetan Buddhism in western Tibet.

According to legend, it is a land where only the pure of heart can live, a place where love and wisdom reigns and where people are immune to suffering, want or old age.

Shambhala is said to be the land of a thousand names. It has been called the Forbidden Land, the Land of White Waters, Land of Radiant Spirits, Land of Living Fire, Land of the Living Gods and Land of Wonders.

The Hindus call it Aryavartha (‘The Land of the Worthy Ones); the Chinese know it as Hsi Tien, the Western Paradise of Hsi Wang Mu; and to the Russian Old Believers, it is known as Belovoyde.


But throughout Asia, it is best known by its Sanskrit name, Shambhala, Shamballa, or Shangri-la.

The legend of Shambhala is said to date back thousands of years, and reference to the mythical land can be found in various ancient texts. The Bön scriptures speak of a closely related land called Olmolungring.

Hindu texts such as Vishnu Purana mention Shambhala as the birth place of Kalki, the final incarnation of Vishnu who will usher in a new Golden Age. The Buddhist myth of Shambhala is an adaptation of the earlier Hindu myth. However, the text in which Shambhala is first discussed extensively is the Kalachakra.

The Kalachakra refers to a complex and advanced esoteric teaching and practice in Tibetan Buddhism. Shakyamuni Buddha is said to have taught the Kalachakra on request of King Suchandra of Shambhala.

As with many concepts in the Kalachakra, the idea of Shambhala is said to have outer, inner, and alternative meanings. The outer meaning understands Shambhala to exist as a physical place, although only individuals with the appropriate karma can reach it and experience it as such.



The inner and alternative meanings refer to more subtle understandings of what Shambhala represents in terms of one's own body and mind (inner), and during meditative practice (alternative). These two types of symbolic explanations are generally passed on orally from teacher to student.

As the 14th Dalai Lama noted during the 1985 Kalachakra initiation in Bodhgaya, Shambhala is not an ordinary country:

"Although those with special affiliation may actually be able to go there through their karmic connection, nevertheless it is not a physical place that we can actually find.

"We can only say that it is a pure land, a pure land in the human realm. And unless one has the merit and the actual karmic association, one cannot actually arrive there."

The Prophecy of Shambhala

The concept of Shambhala plays an important role in Tibetan religious teachings, and has particular relevance in Tibetan mythology about the future.

The Kalachakra prophesies the gradual deterioration of mankind as the ideology of materialism spreads over the earth.

When the “barbarians” who follow this ideology are united under an evil king and think there is nothing left to conquer, the mists will lift to reveal the snowy mountains of Shambhala.

The barbarians will attack Shambhala with a huge army equipped with terrible weapons. Then the king of Shambhala will emerge from Shambhala with a huge army to vanquish "dark forces" and usher in a worldwide Golden Age.

Though the Kālachakra prophesies a future war, this appears in conflict with the vows of Buddhist teachings that prohibit violence.

This has led some theologians to interpret the war symbolically – the Kālachakra is not advocating violence against people but rather refers to the inner battle of the religious practitioner against inner demonic tendencies.

Shambhala’s hidden location

Over many centuries, numerous explorers and seekers of spiritual wisdom have embarked on expeditions and quests in search of the mythical paradise of Shambhala, and while many have claimed to have been there, no one has yet provided any evidence of its existence or been able to pinpoint its physical location on a map, however most references place Shambhala in the mountainous regions of Eurasia.

Ancient Zhang Zhung texts identify Shambhala with the Sutlej Valley in Punjab or Himachal Pradesh, India. Mongolians identify Shambhala with certain valleys of southern Siberia. In Altai folklore, Mount Belukha is believed to be the gateway to Shambhala.

Modern Buddhist scholars seem to conclude that Shambhala is located in the higher reaches of the Himalayas in what is now called the Dhauladhar Mountains around Mcleodganj.

Some legends say that the entrance to Shambhala is hidden inside a remote, abandoned monastery in Tibet, and guarded by beings known as the Shambhala Guardians.

For some, the fact that Shambhala has never been found has a very simple explanation – many believe that Shambhala lies on the very edge of physical reality, as a bridge connecting this world to one beyond it.

While many disregard Shambhala as the fanciful subject of myth and legend, for others, a belief in Shambhala stirs an inner yearning to one day find this utopian kingdom.
