Can't Smell? You Could Be Dying

A declining sense of smell in older people is a strong predictor of death within just five years, according to research published Wednesday.

Thirty-nine percent of study subjects who failed a simple smelling test died during that period, compared to 19 percent of those with moderate smell loss and just 10 percent of those with a healthy sense of smell, the journal PLOS ONE reported.

The hazards of smell loss were "strikingly robust," according to researchers, who said that olfactory dysfunction was better at predicting mortality than a diagnosis of heart failure, cancer or lung disease.

Only severe liver damage was a more powerful predictor of death, they said.

"We think loss of the sense of smell is like the canary in the coal mine," said the study's lead author Jayant Pinto, an associate professor of surgery at the University of Chicago.

"It doesn't directly cause death, but it's a harbinger, an early warning that something has gone badly wrong, that damage has been done.

"Our findings could provide a useful clinical test, a quick and inexpensive way to identify patients most at risk."

Precisely how sense of smell loss relates to mortality is unclear.

"Obviously, people don't die just because their olfactory system is damaged," said Martha McClintock, the study's senior author.

Pinto added: "Of all human senses, smell is the most undervalued and underappreciated -- until it's gone."

The study was part of the National Social Life, Health and Aging Project (NSHAP), the first in-home study of social relationships and health in a large, nationally representative sample of men and women ages 57 to 85.

In the first wave of the NSHAP, conducted in 2005-2006, professional survey teams from the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago used a well-validated test for a field survey of 3,005 participants.

It measured their ability to identify five distinct common odors.

In the second wave, during 2010-2011, the survey team confirmed which participants were still alive. During that five-year gap, 430 (12.5 percent) of the original 3,005 study subjects had died and 2,565 were still alive. — Agence France-Presse

The practice involves cutting a girl’s vagina to create a seal that narrows the opening, making it just wide enough to allow the passing of urine and menstrual blood. Infibulated girls often have their legs bound together for up to four weeks to allow the freshly fused tissue to heal.

In most cases cutting is done by a traditional practitioner without any anesthesia and little care for hygiene. Razors, knives, or scissors are used and they are rarely sterilized. The surgery takes place wherever it is convenient, from out in the open to a bathroom floor.

Female genital mutilation (FGM), also known as female genital cutting and female circumcision, is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as “all procedures that involve partial or total removal of the external female genitalia or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons.” FGM is practiced as a cultural ritual by ethnic groups in 27 countries in sub-Saharan and Northeast Africa, and to a lesser extent in Asia, the Middle East. It is typically carried out, with or without anesthesia, by a traditional circumciser using a knife or razor. The age of the girls varies from weeks after birth to puberty; in half the countries for which figures were available in 2013, most girls were cut before the age of five.

The practice involves one or more of several procedures, which vary according to the ethnic group. They include removal of all or part of the clitoris and clitoral hood; all or part of the clitoris and inner labia; and in its most severe form infibulation is the removal of the labia minora (inner lips) and labia majora (outer lips). When the labial tissue heals, it forms a wall of skin and flesh across the vagina and the rest of the pubic area. By inserting a twig or similar before the wound heals, a small hole is created for the passage of urine and menstrual blood. The procedure is usually accompanied by the removal of the clitoris.

 The legs are bound together for two to four weeks to allow the labia to heal into a barrier. The procedure is usually carried out on young girls before the onset of puberty. It is used by practitioners to render women sexually inactive, unlikely to engage in intercourse, and the visibly intact barrier of infibulation assures a husband he has married a virgin. The barrier produced by infibulation is usually penetrated at the time of a girl’s marriage by the forcible action of the penis of her husband, or by cutting the connected tissue with a knife. The procedure frequently results in organ damage, urinary incontinence, obstetric fistula, and death.

In June 1934, two gold prospectors, who had been digging and blasting for gold within the San Pedro Mountains in Wyoming, came across a small cavern buried deep within the thick rock.

When the dust began to settle, the prospectors made a startling discovery – the well-preserved, but long-forgotten, remains of a tiny human.

The origins of this little human were a mystery. Local Native American tribes were known to tell stories of legendary “tiny people,” “little spirits”, or the Nimeriga.

In some of these stories, the small people had magical powers, or healing powers. In other stories, they were a vicious tribe who attacked the Native Americans with poisoned arrows.

In the years following the discovery of Pedro, scientists conducted more invasive testing, utilizing x-rays to try to unlock the mystery. Several anthropologists initially concluded that the remains were those of an infant, likely born prematurely, or who died shortly after birth.

This, however, is an area of disagreement, as a second body of scientists believe the remains to be those of an adult, possibly 16-65 years in age. It has been said that x-rays revealed sharp teeth, and the presence of food in the stomach that appeared to be raw meat.

The x-rays also suggested that Pedro had suffered a violent death, showing broken bones, a damaged spine, and damage to the skull. The discovery of the mummified remains led to significant speculation that the remains were a hoax.

The presence of the gelatinous substance on Pedro’s head led some to believe that the remains were actually those of a deceased infant, recovered from a medical facility, or that the prospectors had created the remains using a crude form of taxidermy.

However, others maintained the remains were evidence of a Leprechaun-like race, like those mentioned in the legends of the local indigenous people, or evidence of an extra-terrestrial being. While modern testing could provide many more answers about the origins of Pedro, such testing is not possible because the location of the remains has been unknown for several years. It is said that the remains were put on display during sideshows in the 1940s, and were then purchased by a man named Ivan Goodman.

Upon Goodman’s death in 1950, the remains passed to a man named Leonard Waller (sometimes reported as Walder). The remains have not been seen since. With the remains nowhere to be found, the mysteries of Pedro linger to this day.

Most scientists agree that Pedro’s remains were those of an adult male human. However, modern testing could have answered so many additional questions like where he came from, whether he suffered any diseases or congenital conditions, what the gelatinous substance was, and how his remains come to be sealed within a thick layer of rock.


The answers to these questions, and many others, are likely to remain unanswered unless the remains can be located and further tested. Until then, scientists and enthusiasts can only speculate about who or what he was.

But it is best known for making Coke, a product that is utterly devoid of nutritional value and is often blamed for contributing to the obesity epidemic — an epidemic that is costing hundreds of billions of dollars and causing hundreds of thousands of deaths each year.

With demand for the company’s carbonated and artificially flavored sugar water declining, hope for Coca-Cola’s profitability has been increasingly resting on the brands it markets as healthier alternatives. Bloomberg.com reports that sales of Coca-Cola-owned brands like Honest Tea, Powerade, and Simply Orange are the company’s new profit center.

But there’s a problem.

In October, campaign finance reports revealed that Coca-Cola had secretly contributed more than a million dollars to the fight against GMO labeling in Washington. It took the state’s Attorney General suing the Grocery Manufacturers’ Association (GMA) for what turned out to be an $11 million violation of the state’s campaign finance laws to reveal these secret contributions. But now that the truth has been exposed, some healthy food activists are fighting back.

And what makes matters worse, Honest Tea proudly proclaims throughout their website that they are GMO free — while their parent company is actively working to prevent GMO labeling.

I wrote Coca-Cola asking if they intended to continue funding anti GMO labeling campaigns. The company’s response was to repeat the anti-labeling lobby’s talking points. They told me that Washington’s labeling initiative, I-522, would: “Require tens of thousands of common food and beverage products to be relabeled exclusively for Washington State unless they are remade with higher-priced, specially developed ingredients. The measure will increase grocery costs for a typical Washington family by hundreds of dollars per year.”

These are charges that the nine-time Pulitzer Prize winning newspaper The Seattle Times called “mostly false” and that Consumers Union, publisher of Consumer Reports, flatly rejected. In short, Coca-Cola not only tried to hide their contributions to the anti-labeling efforts in Washington, but they continue to try to deceive people about the actual realities of GMO labeling.

And they’re using sales of Honest Tea, Odwalla, Powerade, Vitamin Water, Simply Orange, and all their other brands, to finance their agenda.

Ari Wibowo sheds his skin like a snake every 41 days and must constantly smear his body with moisturiser to stop it hardening and seizing up.

The Indonesian teenager has a rare skin condition that doctors in Indonesia have been unable or unwilling to treat and which has left him with an extraordinary appearance.

He suffers from Erythroderma, an inflammatory skin disease also known as ‘red man syndrome’, that causes the skin over almost the entire body to become scaly and flake off.

Ari has shed his skin every 41 days since he was born 16 years ago. He must soak his body in water every hour – night and day – and smear himself with lotion every three hours to prevent drying out.

Photographer Nurcholis Anhari Lubis, 35, has documented the little boy’s condition as part of an essay project and describes the boy’s skin condition as ‘scaly like a snake about to shed his skin’.

‘It’s really sad because he was not born normally and has scaly skin all over his body, similar to being severely burnt, from the sole of his feet up to his head,’ Mr Lubis told Daily Mail Australia.

‘If the boy doesn’t moisturise or soak his skin in water, his body would shrivel and harden up like a sculpture and he won’t be able to move,’ Mr Lubis said.

‘If he leaves it unattended for too long, he won’t be able to speak because the wrinkles inside his mouth would go hard and it would dry out all his blood in his body.’

Mr Lubis said Ari’s family were told by doctors at the hospital where he was born that it did not have the resources to treat the condition, and asked them to take the infant away.

He and his family now live by a routine of constant washing and dressing his skin with creams.

Still, the boy is trying to live a normal life in his village.

‘He eats normal food like everyone else and his favourite snacks are instant noodles and crackers,’ Mr Lubis said.

‘He had trouble making friends when he was younger and would often go and play with the other kids but most of the time, they would avoid him because he is different to everyone else.’

Ari is taking lessons, but is forced to study alone because of ignorance about his condition in the community.

‘No schools are willing to accept him because they fear his skin condition would be contagious to teachers and other students,’ Mr Lubis said.

Ari also suffers prejudice because of superstitions in his village.

Mr Lubis said many people blame Ari’s condition on a superstition that if a woman mistreats animals while she is pregnant then it will affect her unborn child.

Some people believe Ari’s mother ‘tortured a lizard’ she found in the family home when she was pregnant with Ari.

‘I do not believe the myths but in Indonesia, there are still a lot of people who believe this,’ Mr Lubis said.

Jakarta-based Mr Lubis spent four days with the little boy and his family.

‘When I approached Ari for a photo shoot, he looked very shy but didn’t feel embarrassed and was happy to share his story,’ he said.

‘My interests have been to document lives and the way humans live in their own world, interacting with it and struggling to change it into their own way.’

Ari has trouble talking because of the condition and the vision in his right eye is impaired, while the left must be kept moist with constant drops.

The group of about eight people have allegedly been gathering outside the South Norwood Leisure Centre in Croydon and chanting about 'releasing the spirit' during the 20-minute ceremonies, between 4am and 6am

Police are investigating after a series of 'child exorcisms' are said to have taken place at dawn outside a south London leisure centre.

People living near the South Norwood Leisure Centre in Croydon have reported a string of incidents in the past month where groups of people surround a toddler chanting, 'Get the demon out!'

Witnesses also say the adults shout about 'releasing the spirit' during the 20-minute ceremonies, which take place between 4am and 6am.

It is claimed that the child is told to 'stand still' in the centre of a circle while the group chant and when they are finished, they drive off in their cars, putting the child in a car seat.

It is not yet known if the same child is present on each occasion or if they are different children.

The ceremonies have taken place several times in the past month, with the latest being held yesterday outside the leisure centre, when police attended.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers had spoken the group on Thursday after being alerted to the suspected exorcisms by local residents.

He said the group were warned about how their actions could impact on the ‘wider community’, but that there were no allegations of criminal behaviour.

He said: 'We received a call about this issue earlier in the month, although no allegations of crime have been made.

'Officers have made local enquiries but have not identified any of the individuals involved at this time.

'We are continuing with our enquiries to try and establish the identify of the child allegedly involved to ensure that there is no risk to their welfare.'

Local Amy Davies, 34, who lives near the leisure centre, said: 'Whatever is going on it’s a bit weird.

'The child must be confused and it can’t be good for them to be in this situation.'

While another, who asked not to be named, said he had contacted the police after witnessing the incident on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

He said: 'The child is put in the circle as the adults start chanting about demons and spirits.

'I didn’t get too close as it’s all a bit odd, but I thought I should phone the police and let them know about it just in case this kid was in danger.'

Other residents are said to have contacted the police after being woken up by the chanting in the early hours of the morning.

One said: 'It’s not quiet chanting, it’s loud enough to wake me up and I'm at least 200 feet away from where they hold these things.'

A spokesman for Croydon Council said: 'When we became aware of this issue we quickly referred it to the police.

'We’ve also discussed the situation with local residents to gain as much information as possible.

'If anyone witnesses any further gatherings they should contact the police directly.'

In 2006, an award winning University of Texas evolutionary ecologist, Dr Eric R. Pianka, advocated the use of airborne Ebola to kill off 90 percent of the world’s population. According to a 2006 report by Life Site, and other reports, Pianka was investigated by the FBI after receiving a complaint that Pianka was “advocating biological terrorism.”

All of which is why the FBI is interested in talking to Texas ecologist and herpetologist, Dr. Eric R. Pianka, who suggested at a meeting of the Texas Academy of Sciences that an airborne version of Ebola that would wipe out 90% of the human population was the solution to the human “overpopulation problem.”

In 2007, according to the video below and documents that have been widely reported on, the US government, via the CDC, procured the patent on Ebola, which includes any strain, including hybrid strains that hold a 70 percent commonality. This was just one year after Pianka’s “doomsday” speech. Furthermore, it was in 2006 as well, uncovered by David Hodges of The Common Sense Show, that a company called Crucell entered Phase I clinical trials in for the Ebola vaccine, to which the NIH owns the patent.

In the David Vose video below, we see a more detailed description of Pianka’s speech, where he reportedly accompanied his “doomsday” talk, with a slideshow, which included an image depicting the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

The timing of this speech advocating the use of airborne Ebola, with the CDC’s obtaining the patent and the clinical trials for the vaccine starting the same year as the Pianka speech, cannot be ignored, nor should it be. Also consider the coincidental timing of the Geogia Guidestones, which also advocates the culling of 90 percent of the population, having a mysterious addition of the 2014, which has since been removed, and the deliberate transporting of Ebola exposed persons into the United States.

Chilling Sightings of 'Black Eyed Child' Ghost Spark Paranormal Hunt

A Black Eyed Child has apparently been spotted 30 years after the 'last known sighting.'

Lee Brickley, a leading paranormal investigator, launched an in-depth investigation of Cannock Chase in Staffordshire after the reports.

Latest descriptions of the girl, who has coal-black pits for eye sockets, are identical to those chronicled in the early 1980s.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Lee, author of books about the paranormal, was stunned recently when he received a new eye-witness account of the Black Eyed Child.

Alerted by what sounded like screams, a shocked woman came across the wandering, sightless spectre while walking Birches Valley.

"We instantly started running towards the noise," she said. "We couldn't find the child anywhere and so stopped to catch our breath.

"That's when I turned round and saw a girl stood behind me, no more than 10 years old, with her hands over her eyes.

"It was as if she was waiting for a birthday cake.

"I asked if she was OK and if she had been the one screaming. She put her arms down by her side and opened her eyes.

On his paranormal website, Lee, 28 and himself from Cannock, said the woman's experience mirrors the earlier sighting.

"In the summer of 1982, my aunt was 18 years old, and she and her friends would often meet on Cannock Chase in the evening time, probably in much the same way many teenagers still do today.

"One evening, just before dark, she heard a little girl frantically shouting for help. Rushing to locate the sound, she stumbled upon a dirt track and caught sight of the girl, about six years old running in the opposite direction.

"When my aunt caught up, the girl turned around and looked her in the eyes, and then ran off into the dark woodland. Her eyes had been completely black with no trace of white.

Apparently similar sightings have been reported around the world.

If you consider yourself an adventurous eater, there’s a burger that’s got your name on it.

A pop-up venture in London is offering diners the chance to try a “human flesh” burger.

Beore you fall off your chair in horror, don’t panic – the burger isn’t actually made of human flesh, but is simply meant to taste like it.

The unsavoury treat has been concocted by Messhead, a collaboration between chef James Tomlinson of London Mess and Miss Cakehead, a "freelance creative" who is known for her macabre food creations, to mark the start of the fifth series of the zombie television show The Walking Dead.

Thankfully, the pair didn’t have to nibble human flesh themselves to create their burger: instead, they read accounts from various cannibals about what human flesh tastes like. Inspiration came from flesh munchers including William Seabrook, an explorer who described human flesh as tasting like "good, fully developed veal, not young, but not yet beef" and the murderer Issei Sagawa, who said it “melted in my mouth like raw tuna in a sushi restaurant".

The final recipe for the patties included pork, veal, bone marrow and chicken livers.

The burger will be available at at a pop-up in East London (where else?) on Tuesday Sep 30. The location isn't yet known, but will be revealed via the #terminustavern hashtag on Twitter. We dare you to try it.

The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres on Monday October 13 at 9pm on FOX.

Recently released FBI crime statistics curiously show that no murders occurred in Newtown, Connecticut, in 2012, despite reports that numerous schoolchildren and faculty members were slaughtered during a shooting rampage in December of that year.

On December 14, 2012, the world watched in horror as the corporate media reported the deaths of 20 students and 6 staff members at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown at the hands of a deranged 20-year-old.

Internet sleuths immediately took to the web to stitch together clues indicating the shooting could be a carefully-scripted false flag event, similar to the 9/11 terror attacks, the central tenet being that the event would be used to galvanize future support for gun control legislation. Two years later, and scores of politicians and gun control groups have cited the Sandy Hook incident as a pretext to curtail Americans’ Second Amendment rights.

Additionally, Halbig questioned why no trauma helicopters were ever summoned to the school, and why paramedics and EMTs weren’t allowed to enter the building to try to save lives.

In contrast to the Connecticut report, the 2012 FBI crime report for the state of Colorado shows that 29 murders occurred in the town of Aurora that year, a figure which takes into account the number of people who died in the Century Theater during the premiere of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight film.

Once discovered by Richard Hoagland on a photo of the Lunar orbiter III, The Shard has been a mystery. There was just this one picture with a very hazy anomaly and there have been a lot of speculations what it may be. Some say it is an alien artefact, others say that it is a glass statue, building, antenna or alien outpost. All because there were no other images that could confirm the existence of The Shard.

Below you will find some of the lunar anomalies. These are collected from NASA, Clementine, Hoagland and some other famous sourced. Some of these photos were taken from the Apollo missions from space, others taken from Satellite.

I want you to put things into perspective and think about these images after viewing them.

Consider this other most of the anomalies are glass since they give off reflections.

Most of the anomalies are HUGE. The bridge is said to be 12 miles, the shard tower is said to be 1.5 miles high and there is said to be cities near mountain ranges the size of LA. These are not camera tricks we are viewing here. There is said to be over 400 unexplained anomalies found on the moon that's enough to show me something is or once existed there. 

A photograph of astronaut Alan Bean shows the photographer, Pete Conrad, reflected in Bean's helmet visor. Also reflected in the visor is a "geometric object" hanging several feet above the lunar surface. Also visible is the shadow created by this object.

The object seems to be suspended in a "grid" of surrounding glass-like structure!
 


The Castle
This strange object, photographed during an Apollo mission, has been named "the castle" by Hoagland.

It seems to have a definite structure, like the remnant wall of some ancient building. The bottom looks as if it has rows of support columns, above which is a high spire. Whatever it is, it's much brighter than the surrounding landscape.

This photo was taken by Apollo-16 just before the April 20, 1972 landing on the Moon. Down left you see the metallic foot of the Lunar Lander. This was taken by Neil Armstrong some say its a shadow but it does show something very solid and long.




The next is possibly the Castle Again but this time in the reflection of the helmet.

The object is casting a shadow and is above the ground so either its off in the distance or its something hovering. The castle is said to be a 7 mile large structure. Click below image, a thesis of the artifact and better photo.


Below images show the UFO's one was caught when Apollo was approaching the moon the other was a strange glowing ball of light when Armstrong was walking on the moon.

Moonlights are not uncommon but clearly one of these UFO's does show a disc or saucer like object near the moon to the left.



The thumbnails below are the shard one of the most compelling of all photos I think. It shows a tower like object rising high above the surface. The shard was taken at many angles and still the same results.

The shard is said to be made of glass and about 1.5 miles high. Its also said to contain a symmetrical cubical structure. What's it for we may never know it could be a building, a communications tower but this thing is huge based on how far away the photo was taken from.


Below is a supposed moon base its unknown do not know where this came from but it seems authentic.

There is no event in the New Millennium that has shaped world affairs like the state-sponsored terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

The primary truths of What, How, Who and Why have never been satisfactorily answered by government or law enforcement, mainstream media or scientific academia. However, the many shocking and painfully relevant truths have been hiding in plain sight for over 13 years.

It is critical to understand, especially for those initiated into the complexities of the World Trade Center controlled demolitions, that there were various means necessary for taking down the Twin Towers into their own footprint. Such a task was so complicated and difficult that the evidence — circumstantial, anecdotal, and scientific — points to multiple techniques and demolition devices.

To elaborate further for the many nuclear skeptics, it is quite likely that in addition to the micro-thermonuclear explosives, super-nanothermite and directed energy weapons[2] were also utilized. Why, pray tell, wouldn’t the perps use every means at their disposal to ‘neatly’ and efficiently bring down the buildings, just as they did?

In other words, the usage of the aforementioned trio of micro-thermonuclear explosives, super-nanothermite and directed energy weapons are all consistent with different theories which have been advanced by some very smart people. Therefore, one thing is now abundantly clear: These three effective methodologies are by no means mutually exclusive when postulating the controlled demolition of the three WTC buildings. That also includes those typical explosives and standard operating procedures which are routinely used in controlled demolitions around the world.

Why should any of these techniques be mutually exclusive? Who says so? Only those truthers who are so stuck in the Dr. Judy Wood DEW camp only, or Dr. Steven Jones Thermite camp only, or Veterans Today Nuke camp only, to the exclusion of any other possibilities seem to assert such dogmatic and inflexible ‘conclusions’. We don’t see Judy Wood or Steven Jones or Gordon Duff being resistant to various combinations of controlled demolition techniques.

At the end of the day, does it really matter exactly how they executed the obviously controlled demolitions of all three buildings. The “What?” and the “How?” are never as important as the “Who?” and the “Why?”. Yes, it is helpful to know how they did it in order to secure convictions against the low level hit men who placed the charges and “aimed the weapons”, etc. However, they are but very small fish in a very big sea where there are some very large and dangerous sharks still roaming around.

Lie #5) Ebola came out of nowhere and was a random fluke of nature

The modern-day version of Ebola that's so aggressively circulating today may actually be a bioengineered virus, according to one scientist who wrote a front-page story in Liberia's largest newspaper.

"Ebola is a genetically modified organism (GMO)," declared Dr. Cyril Broderick, Professor of Plant Pathology, in a front-page story published in the Liberian Observer. [2]

[Horowitz] confirmed the existence of an American Military-Medical-Industry that conducts biological weapons tests under the guise of administering vaccinations to control diseases and improve the health of "black Africans overseas."
